At the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) held in Awaza, Turkmenistan, Eritrea delivered a firm and forward-looking statement reaffirming its commitment to regional cooperation, international law, and the dignity of sovereign nations.

While addressing the real challenges facing landlocked countries, Eritrea also indirectly debunked the resurgent propaganda from Ethiopia regarding so-called “historical rights” to sea access – a narrative that not only distorts history but tramples on the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.

A Transit Nation with a Vision

Representing a nation with over 1,200 km of coastline along the Red Sea, the Eritrean delegation emphasized Eritrea’s strategic role as a transit state rather than a barrier to development. Its message was simple: cooperation, not coercion; investment, not invasion.

Eritrea’s focus on infrastructure development – roads, ports, communication systems – is not limited to its national priorities but aims to enhance broader regional connectivity. Maritime security, regional peace, and shared development are part of Eritrea’s long-term vision. The delegation clearly stated:

solidarity and partnership among developing countries are critical for the attainment of sustainable peace and development.

This is the language of cooperation rooted in mutual respect – a sharp contrast to Ethiopia’s recent escalations.

Ethiopia’s Red Sea Obsession: A Dangerous Delusion

In recent months, the Ethiopian regime – led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed – has been reviving a reckless, ultra-nationalist narrative: that Ethiopia, as a landlocked country, has a “right” to access the Red Sea through Eritrean territory. But let’s call this what it is: territorial irredentism wrapped in the language of economic justice.

International law makes it abundantly clear:

• Landlocked countries have the right of access to the sea — but not the right to own someone else’s coastline.

• The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) protects transit arrangements through bilateral agreements, not unilateral demands.

• Eritrea is not obligated – legally or morally – to relinquish any part of its territory to serve the geopolitical ambitions of another state.

And yet, Ethiopian officials continue to float the dangerous idea of

access by any means necessary,

a phrase that raises historical ghosts of the 1960s annexation – when Ethiopia, backed by U.S. imperial interests, forcefully absorbed Eritrea and suppressed its legitimate right to self-determination.

That illegal occupation, led to a 30-year war and the loss of over 100,000 Eritrean lives.

Eritrea: Consistent in Peace, Committed to Sovereignty

The Awaza conference, was never about Ethiopia. But Eritrea’s statement gently reasserted principles, that must be heard louder across the Horn of Africa:

…guided by strong political commitment to mutual respect and mutual benefits one that is grounded on and consistent with the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, including full respect for international law and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.

This is not just diplomatic speak. It’s a clear and coded reminder that Eritrea’s sovereignty is not up for negotiation – nor will it be sacrificed at the altar of another nation’s internal failures.

What Ethiopia lacks in maritime borders, it must not seek to compensate with belligerence. Eritrea has made its position clear: regional cooperation is welcome, but it must be rooted in equity, not arrogance.

A Message to the Region: Respect Trumps Revisionism

Eritrea’s message in Awaza was not just for diplomats – it was for the people of the region. Peace in the Horn of Africa cannot come through manufactured conflicts, destabilizing proxies, or maritime fantasies.

The path forward is obvious:

• Respect international borders

• Invest in cooperative infrastructure

• Sign fair bilateral trade and transit agreements

• Abandon the politics of domination and entitlement

The sea does not need to be a source of conflict. Eritrea has never denied its neighbors access – only encroachment. Ethiopia doesn’t need to fantasize about “owning a port.” It can negotiate transit like every other landlocked country on Earth – through legal, respectful, and mutually beneficial means.

Regional harmony and respect

At a time when global focus should be on climate resilience, food security, and sustainable development, it is disheartening that one country – Ethiopia – continues to destabilize the region with old maps and colonial logic. Eritrea, by contrast, stands firm in its development goals, its commitment to regional harmony, and its unshakable sovereignty.

As the UN conference reminded the world: development requires solidarity. Eritrea reminds the region: solidarity requires respect.

ደርግ ኣብ ናቕፋ ንዝተኸበበ ሰራዊቱ ንምርዳእ ኣብ መወዳእታ መስከረም 1976 ብሸነኽ ናሮ ወፈረ። ብሄሊኮፕተራት እናተመላለሰ ክሳብ 31 ጽዕነት ንኮማንድስ ዘጠቓልል ምሩጽ ሰራዊት ኣራገፈ። እቲ ሰራዊት ብኮሎኔል ክንፈ ገብሪኤል ዲንቃ ዝምራሕ ኣስታት 600 ዓቕሚ ሰብ ነበሮ። ሓደ ክፋል ካብዚ ኣብ ናሮ ዝወረደ ሰራዊት ብምብራቕ ናቕፋ ክስለፍ፣ ካልኣይ ክፋሉ ብገበይ ሕመዳይ ሰሊኹ ናቕፋ ክኣቱ፣ ሳልሳይ ክፋል ድማ ብትክሰ ኣቢሉ ስትራተጅያዊ ቦታታት ብምቍጽጻር ሃንደበትነት ተጠቒሙ ንኣሃዱታት ህዝባዊ ሰራዊት ብድሕሪቱ ሃሪምካ ናቕፋ ካብ ከበባ ምድሓን ዕላማ ነበሮ።

እንተኾነ ኣብ ከባቢ መፍገርገሊል ዝነበረት ኣሃዱ ስንቂ ህዝባዊ ግንባር ንምንቅስቓስ ጸላኢ ቀዲማ ስለ ዝረኣየቶ ጸላኢ ከይተበገሰ ተቓልዐ። ነዚ ወፍሪ’ዚ ንምዕጋት፡ ኣብ ናቕፋ ዓሪደን ካብ ዝጸንሓ ቦጦሎኒታት 607ን 500ን ጋንታታት ተዋጺአን፡ ብወገን ገበይ ሕመዳይን ትክሰን ድብያ ኣጻዊደን ተጸበያ። ብተወሳኺ ኣብ ከበሳ ዝጸንሐት ቦጦሎኒ-1፡ ካብ ቦጦሎኒ 301 ድማ ክልተ ሓይሊ ካብ ከባቢ ኣፍዓበት ዝመጽኣን ካብ ሳሕል ድማ ካብ ክፍልታት ውድብ ዝመጽኡ ተጋደልቲ ኣብ ናሮ ጽዕጹዕ ውግእ ተኻየደ።

ብዘይካ’ዚ፡ ሓደ ሻምበል ዓቕሚ ኮማንድስ ብሰሜናዊ ምብራቕ ናቕፋ ሰሊኹ ክጥወ፡ ኣብ ምግብና ምስ ዝነበሩ ቍንጣሮ ተጋደልቲ ተራኺቦም ተራጸሙ። ህጹጽ ሓበሬታ ዝበጽሐን ኣብ ከባቢ ናቕፋ ዝነበራ ሓይልታት ቀልጢፈን ናብቲ ቦታ ብምንቅስቓስ ነቲ ዝሰለዀ ሓይሊ ጸላኢ ጸፊዐን ንድሕሪት መለሳኦ። ማዕረማዕረ ውግእ ናሮ፡ እቲ ተኸቢቡ ኣብ ናቕፋ ረዳት ዝጽበ ዝነበረ ሓይሊ’ውን ጸቕጢ ንምግባር ክንቀሳቐስ ፈቲኑ ነይሩ። ግን ወፍሪ ጸላኢ ድሕሪ ናይ 8 መዓልታት ምርብራብ ዕላማኡ ከይወቕዐ ተረዅሚሹ ተረፈ። ሰለስተ ርብዒ ካብ ሰራዊት ጸላኢ ተደምሲሱ፡ ዝተረፈ ተበታቲኑ ካብ ናሮ ንድሕሪት ክሃድም ከሎ፡ ኣዛዚኡ ኮ/ል ክንፈ ገብሪኤል ኣብኡ ተቐትለ።

When Abiy tried to divide Somalia with a sham Red Sea deal, Somalia ran to Eritrea.
Eritrea stood firm, backed by Egypt.
Result? Abiy backed down.

4. Red Sea Security
While Houthis disrupted shipping lanes, Eritrea’s Red Sea coast remained secure & navigable.
Ships rerouted safely
Eritrea works with Egypt & Saudi Arabia to keep it that way.

5. Tigray & Amhara Know Eritrea’s Role
When Abiy tried to crush the north, both Tigray and Amhara are now engaging with Eritrea.

ኣብ መፋርቕ ዝሓለፈ ዘመን፡ ኤውሮጳዊ መግዛእቲ ድሕሪ ምብቅዑ፡ ቀርኒ ኣፍሪቃ ብቐጥታ ናብ ኲናትን ዘይምርግጋእን እዩ ኣምሪሑ።

ጠንቂ ዘይምርግጋእ ሃገራት ቀርኒ ኣፍሪቃ ብዙሕን ዝተሓላለኸን እኳ እንተኾነ፡ እቲ ብቐዳማይ ደረጃ ዝስራዕ ኣብ ቀቢላዊ፡ ብሄራዊ፡ ሃይማኖታዊ፡ ጉጅለኣዊን ስድራቤታዊን ልዕልናን ቁጠባዊ ግበታን ዝተመርኰሰ፡ ትሕተ- ሃገራዊ ጸቢብ ፖለቲካ እዩ። ከምዝፍለጥ፡ ሃገራት ቀርኒ ኣፍሪቃ ከም ኩለን ሃገራት ኣፍሪቃ ብመግዛእቲ ዝቘማ ኮይነን ብዘይካ ሶማል ካልኦት ሕብረ ብሄራውያን ሃገራት እየን። ንኸምዚ ዓይነት ኣቋውማ ዘለወን ሃገራት ዘዋጽእ ፖለቲካ ድማ፡ ነቲ መግዛእታዊ ዶባት ከምዘለዎ ተቐቢልካ፡ ኣብ ውሽጢ’ዚ ዶባት’ዚ፡ ኣብ ዜግነት ዝሰረተ፡ ንኹሉ ዝሓቊፍ ኣሳታፊ ፖለቲካ ብምፍጣር ሃገራዊ ውህደት ምርግጋጽ እዩ። ብዕብለላ ሓደ ወገን ግን፡ ሓደን ስሙርን ዘመናዊ ሃገር ምህናጽ ዝከኣል ኣይኮነን።

ከም ኣብነት፡ ኩነታት ኢትዮጵያ ክንርኢ ንኽእል ኢና። እቲ ቀንዲ ጠንቂ ፖለቲካዊ ቅልውላውን ኩሉ መዳያዊ ውድቀትን ሃገረ ኢትዮጵያ፡ ስልጣን ዝጨበጡ ተኸታተልቲ ስርዓታት ናይታ ሃገር፡ ንኹሉ ክፋላት ሕብረተሰብ ብማዕርነት ዝሓቊፍ፡ ክብረትን ሰብኣዊ መሰልን ነፍሲ ወከፍ ኢትዮጵያዊ ዘረጋግጽ ዜግነታዊ ፖለቲካ ኣብ ክንዲ ምኽታል፡ ንሓደ ውሱን ክፋል ሕብረተሰብ ዕርዲ ገይርካ፡ ንካልኦት ብሓይሊ እናጨፍለቕካ ስልጣንካ ናይ ምውሓስ፡ ድሑር ትሕተ-ሃገራዊ ፖለቲካ እዮም መሪጾም። ከምዝፍለጥ ሃጸይ ምኒሊክን ንጉስ ሃይለስላሰን፡ ኩሉ ፖለቲካዊን ምምሕዳራዊን ኣካላት፡ ዋንነት መሬትን ካልእ ሃብቲ ሃገርን ብመሳፍንቲ ኣምሓራ ከምዝበሓት ገይሮም፡ ነቲ ካልእ ክፋል ሕብረተሰብ ኢትዮጵያ፡ ከም ካልኣይ ወይ ሳልሳይ ዜጋ እናጠመቱ፡ ብሓይሊ ብረት ኣንበርኪኾም ክገዝኡዎ እዮም ፈቲኖም። ብድሕሪኦም ዝሰዓበ ስርዓት ደርግ ብተዛማዲ ኣብ ህንጸት ሃገራዊ ፖለቲካ ዝሓሸ ኣካዪዳ እኳ እንተነበሮ፡ ዝተወርሰ ጸገማት (ጉዳይ ኤርትራን ሕቶ ብሄራት ኢትዮጵያን) ብቕኑዕ መገዲ ብዘይምፍትሑ ሓደን ስሙርን ሃገር ክፈጥር ኣይከኣለን።

ድሕሪ ውድቀት ናይዞም ስርዓታት’ዚኣቶም ስልጣን ዝጨበጠ ጉጅለ ወያነ፡ ካብዚ ተሞኩሮ’ዚ ተማሂሩ፡ ንኹሎም ህዝብታት ዝሓቊፍ ፖለቲካ ብምኽታል፡ ንሕቶ ህዝቢ ትግራይ ኮነ ንሕቶ መላእ ህዝቢ ኢትዮጵያ ዝምልስ ፍትሓዊ ስርዓት ክምስርት ትጽቢት ዝግበረሉ’ዩ ነይሩ። እንተኾነ እዚ ጉጅለ’ዚ እውን፡ ህዝቢ ትግራይ መሰሉ ንምኽባር ዘንቀሎ ቃልሲን ዝኸፈሎ መስዋእቲን ማዕርነታዊ ሓድነት ህዝብታት ኢትዮጵያ ኣብ ምርግጋጽ ኣይተጠቕመሉን። እዚ ብጉልባብ ፈደራሊዝም ዝተሃቀነ ናይ ዕብለላ ፈተነ ከኣ፡ ንኢትዮጵያ ኣብ ዝኸፍአ ዓሌታዊ ጎንጽታትን ናዕብታትን ሸሚሙዋ። መሪር ሓድግታቱ ከኣ፡ ንኢትዮጵያ ቅሳነት ኣይሃባን።

እቲ ዘገርም፡ ድሕሪ’ዚ ኩሉ ተመክሮታት ናብ ስልጣን ዝመጸ ብልጽግና ካብዚ ዕብለላ ውሑዳን ናይ ምርግጋጽ ሕማም ክናገፍ ዘይምኽኣሉ እዩ። እዚ ስርዓት’ዚ እውን ሕጂ እዩ ተራና ብዝብል ጸቢብ ሕነ ሕሉፍ ጭቆና ናይ ምፍዳይ ግኒ፡ ንህዝቢ ኦሮሞ ዘይውክል ስነሓሳብ ኦሮሙማ ዝብሃል ፈሊጥ ኣልዒሉ ዕብለላ ሓደ ጉጅለ ኣብ ልዕሊ መላእ ህዝቢ ኢትዮጵያ ንምርግጋጽ ክሰርሕ’ዩ ኣንቂዱ። በዚ ድማ እታ ሃገር፡ ቅድሚ ሕጂ ተራእዩ ናብ ዘይፈልጥ መትሓዚ ዘይብሉ ሕንፍሽፍሽ ከም ተምርሕ ገይሩዋ ኣሎ።

ጸቢብ ፖለቲካ ስርዓታት ምኒሊክን ሃይለስላሰን ንህዝቢ ኣምሓራ እንታይ ጠቒምዎ፡ ጸቢብ ፖለቲካ ወያነን ብልጽግናን’ከ ንህዝቢ ትግራይን ህዝቢ ኦሮሞን እንታይ ኣርቢሕዎም እንተድኣ ኢልና፡ እቲ መልሲ ኣዝዩ ዘሕዝን እዩ። ምስ መናብርቶም ህዝብታት ቀደም ዘይነበረ ደምን ቅርሕንትን እዩ ተኺሉሎም፡ ብኻልኦት ህዝብታት ከም ግፍዐኛታት ኣጠሚቱ ኣብ ቀጻሊ ምትፍናን ከምዝነብሩ ገይሩዎም እምበር ኣየርብሖምን።

ቅድሚ 38 ዓመታት፡ ኣብ እዋን ቃልሲ ንናጽነት፡ ህዝባዊ ግንባር ሓርነት ኤርትራ፡ ኣብ ጥሪ 1985 ዘውጽኦ ናይ ፖሊሲ መግለጺ፡ ነዚ ሕጂ ኣብ ኢትዮጵያ ዘሎ ጸገም ከሎ ገና ኣፍኢምዎ ነይሩ። ናይ ሽዑ መግለጺ ህ.ግ.፡ ተቓወምቲ ሓይልታት ኢትዮጵያ፡ ኣብ ሕቶ ብሄራት ኢትዮጵያን ኣፈታትሓኡን ቅኑዕ መረዳእታ ሒዞም፡ ብሓላፍነታዊን ሃናጺን መንፈስ ንማዕርነታዊ ሓድነት ህዝብታት ኢትዮጵያ ክሰርሑን ኣብ ዜግነት ዝሰረተ ፖለቲካ ክኽተሉን ዝምሕጸን እዩ ነይሩ። እንተኾነ፡ ምሕጽንታ ህዝባዊ ግንባር ኣብ ግዜኡ ተቐባልነት ኣይረኸበን።

ስፍሓቱን ክብደቱን ድኣ ይፈላለ እምበር፡ ትሕተ ሃገራዊ ፖለቲካ ኣብ ኢትዮጵያ ጥራይ ዘይኮነ ኣብ ኩለን ሃገራት ኣፍሪቃ፡ ሰሜንን ደቡብን ሱዳን፡ ሶማል፡ ኬንያ፡ ጅቡቲ ሓደን ስሙርን ዘመናዊ ሃገር ኣብ ምፍጣር ዓቢ ዕንቅፋት ኮይኑ ዝጸንሐ እዩ። ሳዕቤናቱ ከኣ፡ ክሳብ ሕጂ ብዝተፈላለየ ኩርናዕ ክነትጒ ንርእዮ ኣሎና። ንሱዳን ናብ ክልተ ሃገራት ዝገምዐ፡ ኣብ መንጎ ደቡብ ሱዳናውያን ንሓድሕዶም ደም ዘፋሰሰ፡ እዚ ሕጂ ኣብ ሱዳን ተወሊዑ ዘሎ ዘሕዝን ኲናት ሓድሕድ፡ ካልእ ዘይኮነ ውጽኢት ትሕተ-ሃገራዊ ፖለቲካ እዩ።

ኤርትራ እውን እንተኾነ፡ ጸገማት ትሕተ-ሃገራዊ ፖለቲካ ኣይጸለዋን ክበሃል ኣይክኣልን። ኣብ ኣርባዓታትን ሓሙሳታትን ንናጽነት ኤርትራ ኣብ ዋጋ ዕዳጋ ዘእተወ ጸገም፡ ውዲት ምዕራባውያን ጥራይ ኣይነበረን። ገና ዘይሰጠመ ሃገራውነት ኤርትራውያን እውን፡ ናቱ ኣሉታዊ ግደ ነይሩዎ እዩ። ገድሊ ንናጽነት ኤርትራ ንባዕሉ፡ ኣብቲ ፈለማ መድረኽ ካብዚ ሕማም’ዚ ብምንጋፍ ዓወት ዘጐናጽፍ ብቕዓት ሒዙ ኣይነቐለን። ኣብ መስርሕ ውሽጣዊ ቃልሲ ዝተፈጥረን ዝማዕበለን መሪሕ ውድብ ህዝባዊ ግንባር፡ ነቲ ጉዕዞ ቅኑዕ መኣዝን ብምትሓዝ፡ ንመላእ ህዝቢ ዘስመረን ሓድነቱ ዘትረረን ሰፊሕ ናይ ቃልሲ ባይታ ሳላ ዝፈጠረ ግን፡ ኤርትራውያን ብተኣምራታዊ ቅያን ጅግንነትን ተቓሊስና ብውዲት ዝተመንዘዐ መሰልና ብቕልጽምና ክንጭብጥ በቒዕና።

ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ኣብ ጽላል ህዝባዊ ግንባር ተጠርኒፉ ኣብ ዘካየዶ ቃልሲ፡ ኣብ መንጎ ኩሉ ክፋላት ሕብረተሰብ ኤርትራ፡ ብዘይ ኣፈላላይ ሃይማኖት፡ ጾታ፡ ቀቢላ፡ ቋንቋ፡ ባህሊን ማሕበራዊ ቦታን፡ ልዑል ስኒትን ጥምረትን ብምንዳቕ፡ ዜጋታት ከም ዕላማ ዝወስዱዎ፡ ዝኣምኑሉ፡ ዝምርሑሉ፡ ዝከላኸሉሉን ዝስውኡሉን መትከላት ብምምዕባል፡ ኣብ ገዛእ ዓቕሙ ልዑል ምትእምማን ዘለዎ፡ ብርቱዕ ህዝባዊ ስነኣእምሮ ክፈጥር በቒዑ’ዩ። ነቲ ዓለም ዘይከኣል ዝበለቶ ቃልሲ ኣንጻር ሓያላን ከምዝከኣል ዝገበረ ከኣ፡ እዚ ብቕዓት’ዚ እዩ። እዚ ብቕዓት’ዚ፡ ንህዝቢ ኤርትራ ንናጽነት ኣብቂዕዎ ጥራይ ዘይኮነ፡ ድሕሪ ናጽነት እውን ናብ ተረካቢ ሕድሪ ወለዶ ሰጊሩ፡ ኣብ ምውሓስ ልኡላውነት ዕዉት ታሪኽ ሰሪሑ።

እቲ ኣብ ሃገራት ቀርኒ ኣፍሪቃ ኣብ ነፍሲ ወከፈን ዝጸንሐ ጸቢብ ፖለቲካ፡ ካብ ክሊ ሃገራት ሓሊፉ ጠንቂ ዞባዊ ዘይምርግጋእን ዕንቅፋት ዞባዊ ፖለቲካውን ቁጠባዊን ውህደት ኮይኑ ጸኒሑ ኣሎ። ኣብ መንጎ ሶማልን ኢትዮጵያን ኣብ መወዳእታ 70ታት ከምኡ’ውን ኣብ 2006 ዝተኻየደ ወራር፡ ምስሕሓብ ኬንያን ሶማልን፡ ሓሓሊፉ ዝኽሰት ግጭት ኢትዮጵያን ደቡብ ሱዳንን፡ ወራር ስርዓት ወያነ ኣብ ልዕሊ ኤርትራ ሱር መሰረቱ ጸቢብ ዕላማታት ናይቶም ስርዓታት እዩ።

ኣብ 1991 ድሕሪ 30 ዓመታት ደማዊ ኲናት፡ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ልኡላውነቱ ድሕሪ ምጉንጻፉ፡ ቀርኒ ኣፍሪቃ ካብ ጸልማት ዘመን ወጺኡ ብሩህ መጻኢ ከማዕዱ ተስፋ ተነቢሩሉ ነይሩ እዩ። እንተኾነ ልክዕ ኣብቲ ዓመት’ቲ፡ ስርዓት ስያድ ባረ ብምውዳቑ፡ ሶማል ናብ መትሓዚ ኣልቦ ጃንዳዊ ፖለቲካን ኲናት ሓድሕድን ክትሽመም እንከላ፡ ኣብ ሱዳን ዝተላዕለ ጥሩፍ ሃይማኖታዊ ፖለቲካ፡ ንጸጥታ’ዚ ዞባ ስለዝጸለዎ፡ ሱዳን ምስ ጎረባብታ ሃገራት ኣብ ምፍጣጥ ኣትያ። ብውሽጢ’ውን ፖለቲካዊን ዕጥቃውን ተቓውሞ ህዝቢታት ሱዳን፡ ኣብ ደቡብን ምብራቕን ማእከልን ከምኡ እውን ኣብ ምዕራብ፡ ዞባ ዳርፎር ተበራቲዑ። ኣብ ኢትዮጵያ ከኣ፡ ኣብ ዝተፈላለየ ከባቢታት ናይታ ሃገር ካብ ቅድም ኣትሒዙ ዝነበረ ተቓውሞታት፡ ዳግም ተላዒሉ። ኣብ መወዳእታ፡ ስርዓት ወያነ/ ኢህወደግ ኣብ ልዕሊ ኤርትራ ቅሉዕ ወራር ድሕሪ ምፍጻሙ ድማ፡ ቀርኒ ኣፍሪቃ ናብቲ ዝነበሮ ጸልማት ዘመንን ዘይምርግጋእን ተመሊሱ። ኢትዮጵያ ብባርኾት ምምሕዳር ኣመሪካ ኣብ ታሕሳስ 2006 ኣብ ልዕሊ ሶማል ዝፈጸመቶ ወራር፡ ኣንፈት ዳግመ- ምቛም ሃገር ክሕዝ ጀሚሩ ንዝነበረ ውሽጣዊ ምዕባለታት ሶማል ኰሊፉ፡ ዝኸፍአ ዝርገት ፈጢሩ። ህዝቢ ሶማል ብግዳማውያን ሓይልታት ዝተሰንዑ መንግስታት ንኽርዕም ዝተገብረ ጸቕጢን ምትእትታውን ኣብታ ሃገር ገዚፍ ሰብኣዊ ቅውልውላው ኣብ ርእሲ ምኽታሉ፡ ዘይምርግጋእ ሶማል ካብ መሬት ሓሊፉ ናብ ባሕሪ ብምስጋር፡ ኣብ ጸጥታ ቀይሕ ባሕሪን ህንዳዊ ውቅያኖስን ከቢድ ጸገም ፈጢሩ።

ቀርኒ ኣፍሪቃ ካብቲ ዝጸንሖ ሕንፉሽ ሃዋህው ክወጽእ እንተድኣ ኮይኑ እምበኣር፡ ነፍሲ ወከፍ ሃገር ኣብ ውሽጣ ካብዚ ሓድግታት ጸቢብ ፖለቲካ ተገላጊላ፡ ምዕሩይን ኣሳታፊን ፖለቲካ ኣብ ምፍጣር ምስ እትዕወት ጥራይ እዩ። ህዝብታት እናጋጨኻ ስልጣን ንምውሓስ ዝተሃቀነ ጸቢብ ፖለቲካ፡ ዘኸተሎ ጸገማት ትምህርቲ ክውሰደሉ ዝግባእ እዩ። ካብዚ ተሞኩሮ’ዚ ትምህርቲ ቀሲምካ መገዲ ምቕናዕ ከኣ፡ ሓልዮት ህዝቢን ሃገርን ናይ ዝስምዖም መራሕቲ ሓላፍነት ኮይኑ፡ ግዜ ዘይህብ ህጹጽ ዕማም’ዩ። እቲ ዘሎ ሃዋህው ዝተሓላለኸ ይመስል እኳ እንተኾነ፡ ንቕሓት ብምብራኽ፡ ነቲ ካብ ቀዳሞት ስርዓታት ዝተወርሰ ጸገማት ብብሱልን ምዕቡልን ፖለቲካ ፈቲሕካ ናብ ዝሓሸ መድረኽ ምስግጋር ሕርያ ዘይኮነ ግዴታ’ዩ።

Official Reception for Olympian Athlete Biniam Girmay



An official reception was organized for Olympian athlete Biniam Girmay, upon his return home after participating in the 2025 Tour de France. The ceremony was held yesterday, 7 August, at the National Confederation of Eritrean Workers Hall.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Zemede Tekle, Commissioner of Culture and Sports, congratulated Biniam for his outstanding performance at the Tour de France and said that he is following in the footsteps of professional athletes such as Daniel Teklehaimanot and Merhawi Kudus in shining at international cycling competitions. Ambassador Zemede also expressed his expectation, that young cyclists will continue the legacy and place their country center stage.

He further announced that, as a result of the significant influence Biniam has created at both African and global levels—and in recognition of his potential to promote the country’s development programs internationally and positively inspire youth—the United Nations Development Programme has appointed him as its Honorary Ambassador in Eritrea.



Olympian athlete Biniam Girmay, for his part, expressed gratitude for the warm reception accorded to him, saying it will strengthen his dedication to achieving even better performances on the international stage.

Biniam Girmay has made history by becoming the only African cyclist to participate in the Tour de France, for three consecutive years.
