Cabinet Ministers And A Third Of MPs Call On UK PM To Recognise State Of Palestine

Post by Somaliman » 25 Jul 2025, 16:35

For sure, the UK won't recognise a Palestinian state without the agreement of the US. In fact, neither the UK nor the US does anything without the approval of the other one - the two faces of the same evil.

The current UK prime minister, who's the most hated prime minister in British history, is the one who said in 2023:
Israel has the right to withhold power and water from Palestinian civilians.
Keir Starmer is under intense pressure from his most senior cabinet ministers and more than a third of MPs to move faster on recognising a Palestinian state in response to Israel withholding aid to starving civilians in Gaza.

Angela Rayner, the deputy prime minister, and Yvette Cooper, the home secretary, are understood to be among ministers who believe the government should take the lead on Palestinian statehood alongside France.

Emmanuel Macron, whom I am not fun of wants to recognize Palestinian State outside the present boundaries of Israel, meaning the Gaza Strip. That can only work if both parties agree. Israel is untouchable now. The Palestinians won’t relent either. The Gaza Strip will not suffice for them. This is a situation of two great religion based groups that would never flinch. Israel is Nuclear armed. Israelis’ most dangerous nemesis is Iran. This is a situation beyond human capacity. The UN if it has any tooth at all, it needs to protect Palestinian civilians who are caught in this dangerous quagmire.
