Why is Ethiopia Called ❯❯❯❯ ⛱️【"Africa's Philippines"】⛱️

Post by Fiyameta » 19 Jul 2025, 18:21

When Ferdinand Marcos sr. became president of the Philippines in 1965, the country's total debt was only $600 million.

During the 20 years he was in power, Marcos borrowed billions of dollars from the IMF and the World Bank to build high rise buildings in the capital, Manila, to create the illusion of "prosperity", which enticed many people in the rural areas to migrate to the capital looking for jobs, but ended up creating the world's largest crime-infested slums. As a result, Manila's population grew from 7 million to 13 million people within a short period of time.

By the time Marcos was ousted in 1986, the country's external debt had ballooned to $26 billion -- a 4,300% rise.

Debt is the instrument Neo-colonial powers use to control a country and its people. More than half of the Philippines' export earnings is used to pay only the interest on a debt that keeps rising with each passing year.

The IMF's recommended "debt restructuring reforms" for the Philippines included the shipping of millions of young Filipina girls and women to the Arab world as house maid to generate revenue through remittances. Similar "reforms" introduced in Ethiopia also created "የመዳም ቅመሞች" -- a term of endearment the 2 million Ethiopian maids shipped to Arab countries use for themselves to form stronger bonds during difficult times.

Despite millions of Filipino people being forced into a life of indentured servitude to help pay their country's debt, the country's external debt keeps rising. The debt that was $26 billion in 1986 had ballooned to a staggering $283 billion dollars in 2025!!! :|

Worst of all, in 2022, the Neo-colonial powers installed the son of Ferdinand Marcos sr. as president of the Philippines to keep the country shackled to debt slavery forever! :|

These young Ethiopian girls and women were shipped to Arab countries to help pay their country's debt through the remittance they send home. But that in itself is not enough to repay Ethiopia's huge amount of external debt, as the government keeps borrowing more money that it spends on weapons purchase to exterminate the families of these poor women. :x :x

Perhaps Ethiopia has yet to achieve the status enjoyed by the Philippines whose maids earn twice as much salary as their Ethiopian counterparts. But Ethiopia will get there in due time. :?:

Ethiopia's external debt is forecast to rise to around $206.45 billion USD by 2030, that is if the country survives another 5 years, according to Statista. This represents a significant increase from the country's $68.9 billion USD debt in 2025.

The forecast for Ethiopian Birr in 2030 is that the exchange rate will be $1 USD = 300.29 Birr.

The IMF to heavily indebted countries like Ethiopia and the Philippines:
"Well... you don't have a skilled workforce to translate your natural resources into a source of revenue. But you do have an unlimited supply of uneducated young people who can be shipped overseas as domestic workers and day laborers to help pay your country's debt by sending remittances."
The number of Filipina maids in Arab countries: 2.16 million
The number of Ethiopian maids in Arab countries: 1.75 million.

PP cadre Horus admired the Ethiopian regime's negotiation skills in lowering the salary of Ethiopian maids in Saudi Arabia in order to put maids from other countries out of work.

The Saudis were happy to hire 3 Ethiopian maids for the salary of 1 Filipina maid.
