Ajax and Olympique Lyonnais have reached an agreement on the transfer of Lily Yohannes. The 18-year-old midfielder was under contract with Ajax until June 30, 2026.

Yohannes (Springfield, United States, June 12, 2007) progressed through the Ajax youth academy after transferring from partner club WV-HEDW. She played in the Ajax talent academy and the Ajax Talent Team, and was promoted to the first team in the summer of 2023. She made her debut for Ajax on 2 September of that year in the Super Cup match against FC Twente. During the same season, Yohannes became the youngest-ever debutant in the Champions League, starting in the 2–0 home victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

In total, the American international made 55 appearances for Ajax, scoring thirteen goals. Yohannes won the Dutch Cup with Ajax in the 2023/2024 season and crowned her debut season at the highest level by being named Johan Cruijff Talent of the Year.

Technical Director Alex Kroes:
This is a fantastic transfer for both Lily and Ajax. Lily is a true inspiration for the younger generation, and her path to the top is a perfect example of the way we like to do things at Ajax. We are proud of the development she has gone through here, and the fact that she is now making a record-breaking transfer to Olympique Lyonnais, an absolute top club in women's football, is of course a great compliment to both Lily and our youth academy. We wish Lily every success in France.
