It is not because they respect Eritrean sovereignty that they are cautioning the idiot, but they can see that if Abiy is stupid enough to open war against Eritrea it would not only be his end but the end for Ethiopia. A wild animal that keeps disturbing the neighbourhood needs to be put to sleep!

The countries that colonized or continue to colonize Ethiopia don't want to see their client state break up into several ethnic-based mini republics, not because out of concern for the Ethiopian people, but due to their strategic interest that heavily relies on a large number of mercenary force that fights wars for food-aid.
