It is very sad. It is known in the public that Ato Yonas Embaye had discussed this with the minister of agriculture about his greening project. Yonas even was provided a government issued car to travel all the way to the Tekeze river and to the Massawa coast with Awel Seid. As soon as, most of the money money was collected and expended to travel, to buy seedlings and small farm tools , Yonas was told to cease and desist. Looks like he gambled with Hgdef and lost.
Why did they shut the project after the money was spent or sent to Eritrea? It smells something here. The guy did this to help and support the poor Eritrean farmers. There are many Eritrean agricultural experts in diaspora behind his plan. This was supposed to be done by the government

Yonas Embaye has emerged as an opposition figure against the Baba Issu dictatorship and is now campaigning for regime change in Eritrea. He's on a mission to shine a light on the corruption BLEEDING within the crumbling Baba Issu's g@yish leadership.
