My honest opinion is that Tigray is now a proxy ground For HGDEF and PP much like Somalia was during the Islamic Court between HGDEF and EPRDF. So it seems both HGDEF and PP have their own enterprise in Tigray both of them at odds. So we can say it is an ad-hoc temporary alliance that will be used as an insurance policy incase war starts between the ruling parties of each country.
So the medemer issued by HGDEF is only a medemer for Axum-Shire-Adwa clans lead by DebreTsion. The remaining clans are in medemer with PP. The Debretsion group is trying to be innovative here to avoid being proxy by adding the Welqayt rehotoric as a package. But the HGDEF enterprise will only allow that if the PP group moves to Asseb. So it is just i can do this to you kind of saber rattle between both

Your analysis is is partially wrong the Tigray People have the military power to storm Addis Ababa, Asmara or amhara at the same time or one by one but they are trying to salvage the Pretoria agreement which gave billions of birr , ample time to prepare TDF fighters, construction in Tigray, economy booming,many mega factories opened,etc just in the past 2 years.

I am not convinced yet the Amharas in Shewa has anything in common say with, say, Gonderes except speaking the Amharic language.

In case you read my question, it is about our folks and neighbors on the two sides of the Mereb River.
One more question: One side says yes to ethnic federalism whereas the other side says no to ethnic federalism. I wonder what their discussions would be like about it after so long.
