president Trump falsely claimed that US helped finance the GERD because I think he wants to present at GERD's inauguration in September. So, per his well known behavior, he wants to get credit as a negotiating leverage for his presence at the GERD's event. People might think this a wild speculation on my part. But, I couldn't find any other rational why Trump made the claim he did while the whole world knows that he was so opposed to building of GERD.
