With my rough translation:

The Horn of Africa: where is it heading?

A failed strategy

After the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869 and taking as a background the greedy stampede of the ruling powers to conquer the rich geo-political and resource value of the Horn of Africa, after the removal of this direct rule & in the era of the cold war, the superpower race & competition to impose their will and influence in this region, adding to that regional weaknesses and servitude of regimes- all this has denied peace & serenity to our peoples and a loss of opportunity for generations for a whole century.

Attached to this history, in recent years, the kidnapping of the "corrective measure" dedicatedly initiated by the Ethiopian people in 2018 by buying the new regime with small handouts and naming it as a representative, the new hegemonic powers [UAE & Israel- my interpretation] started exploiting the confusion and differences that arose within the popular uprising of the Sudanese people and by using these two big states (Sudan & Ethiopia), strategized the conquering of the Horn region. But the attempt has now fizzled out, in a short period of time.

Escaping forward

After the failure of this strategy and induced by an inner turmoil, it has resulted in something that for a while creates a blurring but is in the parlance of President Isaias a "forward escape". The hopeless & mad attempt is now to fire up the active and dormant conflicts in different areas of the Horn and make the region an arena of unending warfare so as not to be competitive and always remain backward. To use issues of the two waters (the Red Sea and the Nile), access to the sea, the oromumma ideology, the weakening of the semites, the kingdom of the kushites and likewise ideas for a perpetual civil war.

The choice of the peoples

Today, the people of our region are wide awake and have learned their lesson because of past history.

Saying,

Enough with the bloodshed, peaceful engagement is our choice! We will not tear each other down, because of narrow politics!

they have strengthened their defence.

Because of this, the confusion has a time limit. Warmongers & their evil plans of destruction and the resources they spent, in the end, like the Holy Bible says will be: "you sow in vain". Passing through a temporary turmoil, the choice of the people of the Horn for peace will be the ultimate victor.

18 Factory Workers Abducted, Including 3 Chinese Nationals

ETHIOPIA — OLA rebel group operating in Ethiopia’s Oromia region abducted more than 18 workers from the Seeyu bottled water factory earlier today, including three Chinese nationals, according to reports from Meseret Media.

The abduction took place, near the town of Chancho.

In a separate incident, the same group is believed to have killed 12 civilians in a targeted attack in Berber district, located in the Metekel zone. The attack also resulted in significant property damage, Meseret Media reported.

These attacks come just days after authorities claimed that the country’s security situation had significantly improved.

Abductions have become a regular occurrence in several parts of Ethiopia, especially in the Oromia and Amhara regions.

Meanwhile, reports from Ethiopia suggest that more than 20 members of the Ethiopian Navy sent to France for training have reportedly absconded.

Smart people know Ethiopia will never have a salt-water navy. The best they can aspire for is a Lake Tana Navy! But unfortunately, Tana is not in Oromuma territory! TanaNesh, the pride of the Ethiopian navy is moving overland to lake Tana!

The term "Horn of Africa" should only connote a geographical zone and nothing more.

The "Horn of Africa" is not a trade bloc or alliance of countries that share political coordination, economic integration, common goals and interests, and values, etc.

All we share in this geographical zone are conflicts, hostilities, and disputed borders.

For instance, Somalia shares more with, say Senegal or Algeria, than with Ethiopia. At least we share peace and mutual respect with both Senegal and Algeria. While we don't even share peace with our cursed next door neighbour, aka Ethiopia.
