The collection called "Oromo scholars" is at the far front when it comes to writing a protest letter, previously the addressee used to be mostly the western governments and their embassies, or so called international organizations, like Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and the likes. Like the saying goes "old habits die hard" or something similar they can't do without their old habit. They decided to exercise their only tool of writing a protest letter to the repugnant Isayas Afeworki, which he doesn't deserve. A discredited, isolated, leader for life dictator, leading the North Korea of Africa is risen to a head figure of an entity, which he doesn't deserve. The solution is in removing the dictator, not babysitting and nurturing dictatorship in the 21st Century.
If the Oromo scholars believe in action, then they should join hands with the forces poised to eradicate dictatorship from the face of the Earth of this century.
This is an embarrassment to the community that sent them to schools and spent its dire resources to give them education, which they haven't paid back. Only writing letters in the name of the Oromo people!
Oromo Scholars and Professionals Sent Open Letter to President Isaias Afwerki unequivocally denouncing his unprovoked attack on Oromo Identity
