Re: Time Magazine 1945: Haile Selassie Covets Oil-Rich Neighbor, Eritrea

If Eritrea were left alone to exploit its vast oil reserves, the oil-rich nation could overtake UAE to become the largest oil exporter in the world. This fear is shared by both oil producing Arab countries and the Ethiopian political elite class. Now you know why the UAE is colonizing Ethiopia and destabilizing the Sudan.

This letter, must be framed and hanged from the offices in 4KILO for the current and future regimes of Ethiopia.
SINCLAIR OIL CORPORATION
630 FIFTH AVENUE
NEW YORK, N.Y.

September 27, 1945

The honorable James F. Byrnes
Secretary of state
Washington D.C.

Dear Mr. Secretary
:

My company has only recently completed an agreement with the Imperial Ethiopian government for the development of petroleum in Ethiopia.

I feel rather certain that you, personally, have been informed with request to this agreement. Unfortunately, the country of Ethiopia is an inland country, with no direct water outlet for export shipping. Should we be successful in discovering oil, we would, of necessity, be required to construct adequate pipe line facilities from Ethiopia to a suitable seaport, as well as an export shipping terminal.

If we are to proceed with our development program in Ethiopia, it is of vital importance that Eritrea should be recognized as an integral part of Ethiopia, as we would have a suitable seaport outlet.

Our entire development program will seriously be delayed and affected should Eritrea be under the domination of any other power except Ethiopia. I, therefore, urgently request that your good offices support the demand of Ethiopia with respect to Eritrea.

For your personal information, I am attaching hereto photostatic copy of the supplemental agreement between my company and the Imperial Ethiopian Government, with respect to construction of pipe lines in outboard outlets, from which you will readily see the importance to this project of the acquisition of Eritrea by Ethiopia.

Very truly yours

Signed:

President

_______________

Secret [now Declassified] Memorandum of a conversation between US Assistant Secretary Rusk and Italian Ambassador Tarchiani, in March 1949.

Italy's Ambassador Tarchiani expressed the opinion that the great number of indigenous Eritreans who are Moslems, as well as the Italian settlers in the territory , would be most resentful at being placed under the rule of comparatively backward Ethiopians. He pointed out that there could be no question of 'returning Eritrea to Ethiopia' since most of Eritrea had never been under the rule of Ethiopia and that both racially and culturally the area was more closely akin to the Arab people across the Red Sea.

The American assistant secretary of State (Rusk) said:
with respect to Eritrea, we had made US position clear in Paris last fall, and that we continue to believe that the cession of all of Eritrea to Ethiopia, with the exception of the western province , was a solution that would meet the interest of all inhabitants.
Mind you, defeated Italians were in favor of handing in Assab and southern part of Eritrea to Ethiopia so that they can continue their tutelage of most of Eritrea.

These US state department declassified documents clearly prove that Western allied forces on the aftermath of WWII clearly used Eritrea, Libya and Somalia as a pawn to further their interest, believing they would rule Africa for centuries. There were no platform or opportunity afforded Eritreans to express their self determination, until their sons and daughters paid an extremely heavy price and gave the people a referendum in 1993!

Abiy Ahmed Ali & his PP-iopian trolls strategy is to pedal the Red Sea/Assab agenda 24/7, while Ethiopia is grappling multiple civil wars in Amhara, Oromia & tensions R rising in Tigray and Somali regions.

🇪🇷⚽️🤩 Alex Isak, ranked 6 in the list of top center forwards.

6. Alexander ISAK, Newcastle United/Sweden, 25
What makes him special: A lethal finisher with both feet.

Rank in 2024 FC 100 (all forwards): 18

One key stat: He scored the second-most goals in the Premier League this season (23), with his average of 120.4 minutes per goal also second best of any player in the competition.

Why he's on the list: With a genuine shortage of world-class center forwards in the global game right now, Newcastle have one of the hottest in football with Isak -- a young, prolific, proven goal scorer who is performing in one of the world's top leagues. The Sweden international's goals have already helped Newcastle end a 70-year wait for their first major trophy this season, toppling Liverpool 2-1 in February to claim the Carabao Cup, and only the Reds' Mohamed Salah has scored more than Isak's 23 goals in the Premier League this term. With so many clubs looking for a top striker, Isak's value at Newcastle has rocketed.

What he says:
As I have said many times, I don't really look too much or think too much about my future. I have said I am happy here and we are contenders for titles, which is what you want to win as a football player.
What they say:
I feel that Isak has put himself into the 'world-class' category now, with his performances for Newcastle over the past two seasons. Along with Mohamed Salah at Liverpool and Manchester City's Erling Haaland, he is one of the three standout forwards we have got in the Premier League. He's like an assassin, the way he puts chances away.
-- former Newcastle United and England striker Alan Shearer

What's next: The big question hovering over Isak is where he will be next season and whether Newcastle can hold onto the former Real Sociedad forward. The Magpies want to hand Isak a new contract -- his deal runs until 2028 -- but Liverpool and Arsenal are two clubs hot on his tail. Newcastle will have to show they have the ambition to chase the biggest trophies to stave off interest in their star player. -- Mark Ogden

Imagine a drug addict neighbor drives you out of your home and rents out your house to an organized crime syndicate for nefarious purposes.

After a lengthy bloody fight you manage to evict the junkie and his bosses to get your home back, but the junkie continues to make verbal threats against you, except this time you are well armed and your patience is running thin.
