I know you've no shame, but watch this anyhow:

Some Oromo activists are now openly criticizing the so-called “Oromummaa ideology,” recognizing that it does not reflect the true values of the Oromo people. Instead, it has become a political tool exploited by a few corrupt Prosperity Party (PP) officials who are abusing the name of the Oromo to push their own agenda. As President Isaias Afwerki rightly stated, the “Oromummaa ideology” is not rooted in Oromo culture or values. It is being used as a vehicle to expand domination and pursue an empire-building agenda not just within Ethiopia, but across the region.

This empire project must be exposed and stopped. It does not serve the people it serves only the ambitions of a few at the expense of peace, unity, and stability.

ETHIOPIA ― The Sultanate of 🇪🇹Afar, under the leadership of Sultan Ahmed Alimirah Hanfare, issues a stern warning: [the Abiy Ahmed] government is playing a reckless and dangerous game, and the Afar people refuse to be used as pawns, or see their land turned into a war zone, in this delusional bid of
turning Ethiopia into a maritime state by invading a neighboring country.

This is not our war, and it serves no interest of the Afar people.

He adds that if this were about defending our territory from an invasion or incursion, it would be understandable. But anything beyond a peaceful resolution, one grounded in the principles of the UN and AU charters, is not in the interest of the Afar people. The Afar people and their land cannot endure another war. I’ve said this many times before, and I’ll say it again: the people of Afar have no stake in this fight, he concludes.

The decision by Ethiopia’s Federal Supreme Court to reinstate “criminal” charges against Taye Dendea, charges that a Federal High Court had previously ruled fell within his constitutional right to free expression, marks a perilous new chapter because the police swiftly arrested Taye without decision by the court for Taye’s rearrest.

When a higher court reverses an acquittal grounded in constitutional interpretation, particularly one involving freedom of expression, it clearly shows an intrusion of political interests into the judicial sphere. The Federal High Court had rightly affirmed that Taye’s criticisms, expressed both on social media and through mainstream outlets, however sharp, were protected under Ethiopia’s constitution. The Supreme Court’s reversal is clearly prompted by pressure from the executive branch through the Attorney General’s office.

We all witnessed the previous sequence: Taye’s public criticism of Abiy was swiftly followed by his dismissal, personally ordered by Abiy, and then his arrest. Now, the Supreme Court’s revival of speech-related charges, cloaked in the vague accusation of “support for anti-peace forces.”

As if we needed further proof that this country of 120 million has been reduced to the personal dominion of one man. Yet Taye’s case particularly reveals that even the Supreme Court is now teetering on a dangerous slope, one from which there is no return, like the rest of the country.
