Good to welcome FM Osman Saleh of Eritrea in Delhi.

Appreciate his strong condemnation of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

Discussed deepening of our bilateral cooperation especially in health, education and capacity development. Also exchanged views on regional developments.

Saymon Manuel wins the 5000m with a record time of 13:01'85" in Nice, France. This was his first competition abroad! He also set a new Eritrean National U20 record and qualified for the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo. 🇪🇷

As of May 2025, only three African countries—Botswana, Libya, and Eritrea—have never borrowed from the IMF.

Their reasons vary:

• Botswana has long been lauded for its prudent fiscal policy and effective governance;
• Libya's oil revenues and political dynamics have shaped its approach to external borrowing; and
• Eritrea, often operating under a self-reliant economic model, has deliberately stayed outside many global financial networks.

Do these athletes truly perform better merely because Foreign Minister Saleh has held office since the very inception of Eritrea? After more than three decades marked by a deteriorating diplomatic presence, is their performance now genuinely improved?

Aptidon, from 1977-1999. Guelleh, from 1999-present. Guelleh, is Aptidon's nephew. Hence, Djibouti is a family firm.

Because of that, the country has produced hundreds of world athletes.
:mrgreen:

Haile Weldensae, Petros Solomon and Ali Said Abdella have served as Eritrea's FM's since 1991.

The completely knowledgeable Dr, of course, knows that.
