Why is "GALLA" offensive?

The meaning of the word Galla is not clear,but wrongly attributing the Amharas for coining the word is prevalent.
One thing the oromos do not admit is the very word was not made up by Amharas.
As one Somali historian said,the word Galla is Somalian for "what did he say" when somalis came across the oromo migrants there was a langugey barrier.hence the word "Galla" was used to refer to the newcomers to the area.
some say Galla means pagan,unbeliever,however why is it found to be offensive?

Do you know of any Gosa in Ethiopia or East Africa or anywhere else in the world that identifies itself as Galla?

It seems the origin of the word is unknown,but the oromos were known as Galla not only in Ethiopia but also in east African countries-Kenya,Tanzania,Sudan,etc.
Somalis and Ethiopians in general used to refer to the present day "Oromos" in no other name ,other than Galla.
In fact ,if oromos were in present day Ethiopia before everyone,they should have been known by that name "Oromo" ,but history seems to indicate otherwise.

The question again is if you know of any Gosa in Ethiopia or East Africa or anywhere else in the world that identifies itself as Galla?

There were many people around the world who called some people Pagan without a hint about the origin of the word or if some people in Europe identified themselves as such.

It has been suggested that the origin of the word Oromo is Orma, which means Ba’id. It is a newly coined name. The Borana identity themselves as Borana, which is yet to be determined if it is the name of a Gosa or an area where the people live.

You have a lot to sort out if you are really interested to know the people and yourself.

You would do yourself a good intellectual service if you can answer the simple questions, one at a time.

Why is it so hard to say what "Galla ' means and in what language?
My interest is to know !00% Galla is not Amharic word and Oromos to stop pointing fingers on Amharas.

I heard of the "pagan" bit ,but not sure if it is TRUE.

" Pagan comes from a Latin word paganus, meaning villager, rustic, civilian, and itself comes from a pāgus which refers to a small unit of land in a rural district. It was a demeaning Latin term (like the word hick), that originally lacked a religious significance.

When Christianity came on board the Roman Empire, those who practiced the old ways came to be called pagans. Then, when Theodosius I banned the practice of the old religions in favor of Christianity, he obviously banned the ancient (pagan) practices, but new forms of paganism crept in via the barbarians, according to the Oxford Encyclopedia of the Middle Ages'.

Which means enter so in a sense gala means enter . When somalis invited the karrayo and afranqalo to join islam they said come inside which means gala in the somali language . So there is nothing offensive about gala which just means just enter. It’s just amhara picked it up later and and teased the gallas and they started hating their own name . But from 1700s Untill 1960 or so the word galla wasnt at all a problem.
For 270 years there was not a single problem . Gallas should man up and accept their name

Here is a full text of the First Amendment of the U.S. constitution:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

It spells out the idea of the separation of church and state.

It states clearly that the U.S. Congress would be uninvolved in establishing religion or restricting its practice while it promotes the progress of science.
