Gurage has two options for a second chance at the Center

Post by Dama » 10 May 2025, 08:53

1. Begin its own armed strughle against PP's misrule of Ethiopia and its existential threats
2. Join Fano

Otherwise, Gurage will be completely undermined, mistreated and impoverished.

Agree with you.
To get a share of the pie or for self-defense to preserve deserved right, self-organizing with political consciousness is the way to go. Ethiopia no more can assure peace and development for small Ethnics. The so-called bigger ones are already toting gun in the name of ethnic ghettos called Kilil.
No option for Gurage. No more slavery to central government. Need strong political organization, not as chaotic as chigrayland or Oromos though.
I would say yes to Fano alignment. Fano for sure will let ethnics administer themselves with a strong national government.

Relative to Amara and Oromo, the total Gurage, the unfragmented Gurage along dialects and religions, yes it is small but true estimates put the Gurage language speaking population around 15 million. Larger than Tigrey, larger than Somali and larger than Sidama.

Individual Gurage is phydically hardy and unassuming in worldview which enables one to be objective and measure reality unsubjectivey. Therefore, resilient.

Alignment of principles with Fano on the need to get rid of PP and collaboration on supplies of intelligence, weapons and training. Understand that Fano does want to remain Amara only. It is not the Menelick's Shewa army.

It wants no other ethnics within its ranks. They lost trust due to the likes of Eritreans and Tigreys born and raised in Amara but worked for Shabia snd TPLF while in ANDM residing and "representing" Amara. Example Simon.

Gurage is not small when we unite. I will work on Kistanew Walrus to relent on Sodo exceptionalism.

Best option for Gurage is to start organizing itself independently, in a spirit of cooperation with Fano, based on agreeable principles.

4. Gurage service institutions will be disbursed; will not be centrally located.
5. Free media
6. Freedom and security of the individual
7. Equal justice to all
8. Strong representation of Gurage at the Federal or Central gov of Ethiopia
9. Freedom.of movement
10. Right to private property
11. A common standard Gurage language
....

Hopefully Walrus will learn how to love Gurage than Gallas and their Oromoma leader Abiy Ahmed
