Stand in solidarity with Ethiopia’s medical professionals, teachers, civil servants, and all others demanding dignity and a living wage.

Abiy Ahmed, the tone-deaf and delusional autocrat, continues to prioritize billion-dollar vanity projects — sprawling palaces, luxury eco-lodges, and so-called “corridor development” — while ignoring the urgent and basic needs of the Ethiopian people. Instead of investing in food security, healthcare, or education, the regime pours scarce public funds into elite infrastructure — a $13 billion palace, posh eco-lodges, and image-driven mega-projects — while millions face runaway inflation, mass youth migration, and collapsing public services.

➡️ Over 20 million Ethiopians rely on food aid
➡️ 68.9% live in multidimensional poverty
➡️ Even in Addis Ababa, many lack access to affordable and reliable clean water & electricity
Medical professionals, teachers, and civil servants across the country are now on the brink of mass strikes — not for luxury, but for a living wage and dignity.

Vanity cannot replace vision. Ethiopia needs justice, equity, and principled leadership — not monuments to a collapsing regime and a narcissistic autocrat.

A qualified doctor in Ethiopia makes less than $100, a month.

The people saving lives are living on bread and bananas, because that’s all they can afford.

That’s why doctors, teachers, and civil servants in the country are calling for a nationwide strike in 4 days; demanding a fair, livable wages.

If the incompetent Abiy Ahmed’s government keeps ignoring their demands, the initial five-day nationwide strike led by the Ethiopian Health Professionals’ Movement will go ahead as planned:

TIGRAY ― With the deadline to revoke its legal status looming, the TPLF has pushed back by flatly rejecting the National Election Board’s order to “re-register” as a political party.

Instead, the TPLF is demanding full reinstatement of its original party status, and warns that failing to do so poses a "serious threat" to the Pretoria Agreement, which is a Cessation of Hostilities Agreement between the TPLF and the Federal gov't.
