There's some truth in the claim often made by some Ethiopians that "Ethiopia was never colonized." It was Abyssinia that was under Italian colonization from 1935 to 1941.

It can be argued that, the British advisor to Haile Selassie, Mrs Sylvia Pankhurst, by changing Abyssinia's name to Ethiopia, she had achieved some level of success in erasing the landlocked country's past colonial history, at least in the minds of some Ethiopians.

The only downside is Ethiopia can never sue Italy for past colonization because all the Italians have to say in court is "Quale Etiopia?" የትኛዋን ኢትዮጵያ? They colonized Abyssinia, not Ethiopia.

You will never find the name Abyssinia in any historical books or maps, it never existed before late 18th century

The ferenjis asked Minilk to change the name from Ethiopia to Abyssinia numerous times, Minilk refused to be named Abyssinian. The reason they have been attempting to delete the name "Ethiopia" from the earth is obvious. Because Ethiopia is the center of the truth they have been hiding on earth. Any researcher of any sort will find himself end up in Ethiopia, be it in history, technology, and faith. Ethiopia is the mother of all!

So the ferenjis have attempted to invade Ethiopia over 2000 times. And Ethiopia of course defeated them all 2000 times. So they tried to cheat Minilk to change the name but of course he knows what they are doing and refused.

I'm not sure if it still exists or not, but at one time there was a fast-growing movement that wanted to change Ethiopia's name back to its original name Abyssinia, because the group despise the name Ethiopia which means "Burnt Face" in the Greek language.

There was a furniture store near where I live that changed names at least 2 or 3 times a year.

Each time the store changed its name, it hung a huge banner on its front window that says "under new ownership", but when you look inside it is the same old owner and workers. LOL

I guess the store was getting a lot of negative reviews from customers who were told they were buying furniture made in Italy, when in fact the store was selling them items made in Mexico with "Made in Italy" stickers.

The owner thought changing the name of his store would somehow trick customers into forgetting their past negative experience and come back to buy more of the same stuff.
