Dama,
You forgot the background history, all lands King of Kings Menelik II army reclaimed were his ancestral land. Menelik II did not put the land in his bag, he reclaimed his ancestral sovering territory and brought the people into civilization. You have to be grateful. Anyway, why do not focus on the present in stead of blaming those who passed away and cannot defend for themselves?

Not an agreeable proposition to bury history. No, history shall live, updated every time when new interpretation of it come to light. And or when new facts are unearthed.
From this Gurage historian's view of Menelick's southward expansion under the banner of "Ager Maqnat", as misleading as it was, the real reason was to annex populations and resources of the South twhich mainly to deter Yohannis from invading, defeating and forcefully annexing the small and poor but indepenfent Shewa Kingdom. Who knew this grand design!
Thanks to Gurage writer's unearthing of this truth now we know.
