The Ethiopia that has abundant educated and skilled and unskilled manpower, abundant water and material resources and above all the cheapest electricity in Africa can not manufacture basic building materials and house furniture.
If Ethiopia can not do it, what hope do the Eritreans and the rest of sub-Saharan Africa have.
Besides, what is the point of buying such very expensive residential houses in a very politically and economically unstable country, ridden with crime where traveling 50 to 70 km outside of Addis is almost impossible?

My dear we used to produce so many things, home grown for domestic consumption under HIM, if he had continued, today we will be the number one exporters from Africa today even beyond. In terms of drone manufacturing, probably allowed a foreign country to do that for cheap labor in Ethiopia. No it is not govt or citizens initiated manufacturing, probably China. Remember, Ase Tedros built Medf at that time. Certain racist people in Ethiopia shame and defame others who produce such as clays, metals, etc by insulting looking down at them saying buda, ketkach giving derogatory names. They are enemies of Ethiopias advancement!

We used to produce soap, shirts, cooking pots, blankets, etc. Weyane was importing poison goods from enemies, Egypt, Turkey, etc

Basically none of the equipment or furniture is fabricated in Ethiopia.

I doubt the expensive imported but assembled expensive houses or utilities are for Ethiopians. Ethiopians can not afford them. They are merely for foreigners (Arabs, Indians, Chinese…rich Africans..) who will come for the good whether, exploitation and perhaps promote prostitution.
That is why we say Ethiopia did not have a government that owns it as its country instead of begging on the name for ethnic superiority. The country does not recognize citizens hence there are ethnics and ethnic regions not citizens that usually feel responsible for their country.

City vulgars used to say ጋላ ሲሰለጥን በጨረቃ ጃንጥላ ይይዛል:: That seems true. They made Addis glitter in some areas for pictures but everything is imported. Imagine if those bipolar conceived projects used resource generated locally, some local people could have earned a job and the manufacturing used could have been an asset for the future.

Those Vanity projects are done not imagining Ethiopians but to bring Arabs, indians and others to Ethiopia while citizens become laborers, prostitutes, servants and slaves
