The government of Djibouti has officially turned down a request from the Ethiopian Embassy to extend the deadline for the deportation of Ethiopians residing in the country on legal permits. The decision follows high-level discussions between Ethiopian diplomatic representatives and senior Djiboutian officials.
According to a statement released by the Ethiopian Embassy, Djibouti has mandated that all foreign nationals with legal residency permits must voluntarily leave the country between April 3 and May 2. Those who fail to comply will face enforced deportation by local authorities.
The embassy expressed deep concern over the decision, emphasizing that many Ethiopians legally residing in Djibouti are now in a precarious position. Among them are students, laborers, and workers with ongoing legal and financial matters—including unpaid wages and unresolved court cases. Additionally, many residents require time to sort personal affairs, such as the sale of belongings and property.
In an effort to mitigate the impact, the Ethiopian Embassy had formally requested a three-month extension to the deadline. However, Djibouti has firmly rejected the appeal, insisting on the original timeline.

the deportation of Ethiopians residing in the country on legal permits.
This is a lie, they are illegal immigrants in Djibouti, thousands of undocumented Ethiopians are awaiting deportation, Ethiopians should never be allowed to set foot in Somali soil, especially the dirty Galla scavengers as well as Kistane listro, The Kistane are tiny landless low IQ minority ethnic group with hippo mouth size, they should never be allowed to set foot in Somali soil.
War-torn landlocked Ethiopia is hell on earth, people are fleeing from civil war, ethnic conflict, extreme poverty and famine, More than 5000 Ethiopians are right now trapped in war-torn Myanmar.
