Currently, Nigeria has 227 million people with Fertility rate of 5.14 births per woman.

Ethiopia has 130 million people with Fertility rate of 4.o6 births per woman.

So, in order to surpass Nigeria Ethiopian woman needs to have fertility rate greater than 5.5 births.

As the rural population gets wealthier, rural Ethiopian population will explode and possibly catch up with Nigeria.

Generally, population doubles every 20 years.

___Nigeria lags Ethiopia in terms of population only when Nigeria is developed Economically and Ethiopia remains at the same level as it is now or slides back. Because, development is the only best contraception to rapid population growth. That notion (development is the best contraception) is an anti-abortionist, anti-contraception or family planning. In a developed economy people want to invest more in leisure and consumption, not making lots of kids. Those who hands out the bitter pill are genocidal ones.

___ Ethiopia will be a country with large population, does not need any proof. Because the country already has large population and that momentum will continue - it currently has population size of may be 15 African countries combined - that will continue even at replacement fertility level. The only thing that should threaten to see a population decline is if there becomes a Nation-Wide Genocide, given the Orommuma Regime is on the perfect course of genocide; and also, Natural Calamity, say what if earth quake and volcanic activities become apocalyptical proportion in Addis Ababa ( FinFin). Addis Ababa is not only a primate city of Ethiopia, it is 15 times larger than many Africa big cities - if no genocide and natural disaster it will keep its bulgeous population, most of whom living under crushing absolute poverty.
