I thought that word "አዱኛ" an Afan Oromo word but also then saw last time a woman from Gojam was also named the same Adugna Temesgen (sister of the infamous Birtukan Temesgen).

In Afan Oromo it means like affluence, prosperity or simply richness/wealth. If it is also about wealth in Amharic, then it needs to be understood which language borrowed from which.

I have also heard somewhere that there are Afan Oromo speakers residing in today's Gojam and thought if they have brought the word with them and contributed to the development of Amharic.

This days it seems everywhere we turn to speaks Afan Oromo, including Gojam.
