Top EU official Rita Laranjinha just wrapped a rare high-level visit to Eritrea 🇪🇷 - talks with key ministers, global players & UN agencies.

Topics? Regional stability, economics, human rights & more.

Delegation of the European Union to the State of Eritrea

Let's control the media platforms.

Call to Action:

Here are our 7-Point plan

1. I will defend my country—whether right or wrong—because no one else will.

2. I will expose every lie and manipulation, pushed by Ethiopia's propaganda machine.

3. I will counter every cyber attack with facts, pride, and our truth.

4. I will amplify every Eritrean voice, that stands for sovereignty and unity.

5. I will challenge internal defeatists and external opportunists, alike.

6. I will engage on all platforms—Twitter (X), Facebook, YouTube, TikTok—to shift the algorithm in our favor.

7. I will not rest—because defending Eritrea is not an option, it's a duty.

We are not just reacting, we are leading. From today forward, let the digital front be ours.

Victory to the masses! Unity above all!

There are many Eritrean YouTube channels in Tigrigna, but only a few in Amharic. However, the Eritrean Amharic channels, though limited in number, are incredibly powerful and effective. Their messages and titles are sharp, focused, and straight to the point. What’s even more telling, is how many of Abiy Ahmed’s paid trolls are actively listening and reacting to these channels. This shows, just how deeply these messages are penetrating their echo chambers. Let’s support these creators, as much as we can. Their content is making a real impact, and they deserve our encouragement. If I missed any channel, I sincerely apologize. Thank you all!

Elabered Estate: Increasing Food production Through Integrated Agriculture

By: Habtom Tesfamichael

https://shabait.com/2025/04/11/elabered ... riculture/

Apr 11, 2025

One of the agro-industries with promising prospects in Eritrea today, is the Elabered Estate. Located 68 Km north-west of Asmara, it is operated by the Eritrean Crops and Livestock Corporation.

Elabered Estate was originally established in 1893 by an Italian entrepreneur on around 12 Ha growing vegetables, sisal and tobacco, among others. It later grew into a complex agro-industry. It was heavily damaged during the war for independence and had to be rebuilt in 1998.

The Elabered Estate sits on about 1,200 ha of which 350 ha is under cultivation, 108 ha is used for various kinds of civil works, 22 ha is occupied by ponds, dams and canals, while the remaining 570 ha is primarily steep, covered with trees, vegetation and stones. It uses the Anseba River as the main source of water through diversion systems, and it applies a mechanized type of farming.

Of the 300 ha of arable land about 84 ha is cultivated with perennial crops, while 86 ha is cultivated with vegetables and fodder crops. Portions of the remaining irrigable land have recently been developed, while the rest are not utilized primarily for crop rotation and future expansion of fruit and vegetable farms. Out of the 570 ha, about 100 ha serves as grazing land during the rainy season.

The farms at the Estate are currently covered with cereals, vegetables, fruit trees such as oranges, lemons, papayas, mangoes, guavas, avocadoes and olives, as well as animal food such as alpha -alpha.

The Estate has five departments: vegetables, fruits, crop disease prevention, livestock and dairy products and animal food. Fruits, vegetables and dairy products are supplied to Asmara daily. In addition to the milk sold locally, around 4,000 liters of milk is delivered weekly to Asmara. The milk processing plant at the Elabered Estate processes milk from Elabered and Halhale dairy farms. The tomato processing plant at the Estate, is being renovated.

Currently, there is a lot of focus on the reproduction of animals at the Estate, where 300 cows, 100 sheep and 900 pigs are being raised. The dung of the animals is used as fertilizer, helping save expenses.

One of the goals of the Elabered Estate is to stabilize market prices of agricultural products such as vegetables, fruits, meat and dairy products. It has also created employment opportunities for hundreds of the local people, who work at the Estate’s farms and food processing plants.

For optimum results the Estate works in collaboration with institutions in the country, such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Hamelmalo Agricultural College, and the National Agricultural Research Institution of Halhale. Most of the Estate’s staff have been trained at these institutions.

The Government established seed banks, research stations and laboratories with a view to assisting farmers. Applied research on livestock, forestry, horticulture and plant pests are in progress. It has created platforms for farmers to get training periodically with a view to helping them improve their entrepreneurial and farm management skills.

The agro food sector of the Estate offers significant potential for expansion, and with the introduction of modern technology such as drip irrigation and sprinklers would enable the Estate to save water and intensify its production.

Milkias Maekele – A young sprinter chasing dreams and creating hope

Tuesday, Apr 8, 2025 in Pro Cycling

https://www.bikeaid.de/en/racing/racing ... 570513dba7

February 14, 2025 – Stage 6 of the Tour of Algeria. For five consecutive days, Milkias Maekele sprints his heart out, landing on the podium each time. Four times second place. But the win? Still missing.

I was nervous. I doubted myself. I asked whether I was really good enough — or if I should, like many others my age, go into the military,
says the 20-year-old Eritrean, reflecting on that emotional week.

Stage six becomes his moment. After 114 kilometers, the peloton turns onto the final straight. Milkias launches his sprint. Right glance — clear. Left glance — clear. He’s alone. In front. Arms raised. Victory. Finally.

An unforgettable moment — and perhaps a turning point in the young sprinter’s career.

From an internet café in Eritrea to the European peloton

For BIKE AID, the decision wasn’t easy — but it came from the heart. With 21 riders from 10 African nations since 2014, the team knows the unique challenges that come with African talent.
Signing an African rider means significantly more effort for us,
says team owner Matthias Schnapka.
Flights, visas, accommodation, communication — it’s a logistical and financial challenge. In Eritrea, there’s no mobile internet. If our riders want to contact us, they need to visit an internet café. No quick messages, no real-time training uploads — everything takes time.
Still, BIKE AID signs Milkias. Because sometimes, talent needs a chance — and people who believe in it.

Three riders from Eritrea – one shared mission

With Dawit Yemane and Yoel Habteab already on the roster as climbers, Milkias Maekele now becomes the team’s first pure sprinter from Eritrea. His explosive power is set to bring new strength to BIKE AID’s sprint train.

The timing is perfect: In 2025, the UCI Road World Championships will take place in Africa for the first time — in Rwanda.
For us, it’s a powerful way to celebrate African cycling — but also to raise awareness about the structural inequalities these athletes face,
says Schnapka.
With our #rideforafrica campaign, we don’t just want to support athletes — we want to create awareness and work with our community to drive real change.

Ride with us. Cheer for Milkias.

Wedi Medhin Berad so called diplomacy is all about spying on Eritreans who lives in the diaspora and of course create division among Eritreans on the base of region, sub region and religion. and of course to extort money.

If the dictator and hs anux lickers want to tell us about diplomacy, there are many Eritreans who are languishing in Libyan prison who need consular assistance and repatriation. The fragmented government of Somalia assisted its citizens in Libya and they are offering them consular services...and to this day, Eritreans are left with out any assistance what so ever.

and here is skuni Zmeslo talking about non existent diplomacy.

I know you have children I dont want to involve your children in this forum, but compare their development from 2018 and 2025. We must learn from successful African models. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution. We need to identify what works in our context and scale it across the continent.

People often refer to Eritrea as isolated, but I recently visited, and what I saw was a model worth studying. Eritrea has constructed many dams, each supporting around 2,000 farmers. They are food secure and have transformed their agriculture. I even visited a facility producing yogurt from local milk adding value to local produce.
