Mr. Reda was once an avid antagonist to the person who now appointed him to the newly crafted position. The OPDO leadership never fails to create new ministerial positions or eliminate one at will at any time. Getachew used to mock the PM and teardown his leadership style and denigrate everything that the PM has been trying. Now most of what Getachew said about the PM are what defines the PM more than anything we ever have heard or seen. Despite all of these, the PM is pretending to show that what has been is in the bygone era and what matters is the survival of his wimpy oromumma regime for the next few months on lifeline support.
Getachews role here could be double sword by either serving honestly his former tormentors or working against them in the most subtle way or he could be relegated to nothingness like Gedu and Redwan. Getachew is an effective communicator who has cultivated important relationships with the handlers of the country. He has the potential to sway their allegiance one way or another. OPDO is eager to exploit this potential hopping that Gech could help dissipate the negative image that the Amhara and Tigray genocide have defined the regime by. Mamo the Jillo perhaps, once again try to hide his true color behind the Getachew led face lifting diplomacy. If Gech is vindictive and goes all the way to reciprocate what his former TPLF colleagues did to him in kind, OPDO could score some points.
