'You can now die': The human cost of America's foreign aid cuts in Ethiopia.
As one of the largest beneficiaries of U.S. aid in sub-Saharan Africa, Ethiopia has been hit hard by the Trump administration terminating USAID.
"We don't even want to open our eyes to see the disaster that's coming," Makele Hailu says. "In Tigray, particularly, the dependence ratio is something like 80%," he said, referring to the number of people reliant on USAID.

We Ethiopians have been surviving on food-aid since 1952, so its going to be almost impossible for us to live without USAid unless we implement radical changes to identify the root causes of our aid dependency.

Most Ethiopians have no culture of helping each an other. Tigray and amhara will suffer the most. Oromos are in stable condition and fertile land to produce more. So they can survive. Somalis have no plans but they are not worried about food. They usually help their poor .
