They finshed all their ሿሿ cards so now they have to go to war to distract and possibly change the political environment forcfully. The reason why they would go to war are multiple. One reason is the gala and ferenjis like to control Eritrea and attack Amara from inside Eritrea.
It's all about Fano! The ferenjis are looking for ways to stop the expanding Fano. Esayas is their puppet but of course they have to surprise him too if they want to do something they want but Esayas is not favor of.
