As the United States sends a very stern warning to Eritrea thru Oman, it is also sending positive messages thru its Secretary of State, that is the Numero Uno American Diplomat to Ethiopia to strengthen its relations.
Given the instability in the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean side of the Horn of Africa, the United States wants Ethiopia to play a major role in the region.
There is no doubt the US wants Ethiopia to occupy the Red Sea shores from Assab Port to the Dahlak Islands, as Russia and the EU would prefer.
