Mogadishu (HOL) – Somali government has welcomed the Sudanese Armed Forces’ capture of the presidential palace in Khartoum, hailing it as a major milestone in the country’s efforts to restore sovereignty following two years of civil conflict with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
In a statement released Friday, Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed solidarity with Sudan and praised the “immense sacrifices” made by the Sudanese people and armed forces.
“Somalia views these sacrifices as a continuation of Sudan’s long-standing struggle and its proud historical legacy in defending national sovereignty and rejecting foreign interference,” the statement read.
