Down hill road

Reasons why Oromo-led politics in Ethiopia is failing
1. Failure to Democratize: Inability to implement meaningful democratic reforms, leading to political repression and dissatisfaction.
2. Failure to Unify the Country: Struggles to foster national unity among Ethiopia’s diverse ethnic groups, exacerbating divisions.
3. Ethnic-Based Hate, Especially Toward Northerners: Rising tensions and hostility, particularly toward the Tigray and Amhara populations, undermining social cohesion.
4. Oromo Expansionism: Focus on promoting Oromo culture and territorial claims rather than pursuing a broader, inclusive national agenda.
5. Narrow Ethno-Nationalism: Prioritizing ethnic interests over national unity, contributing to fragmentation and conflict.
6. Corruption: Endemic corruption within the government hampers development and undermines public trust.
7. Inability to Ensure Peace and Security: Failure to establish lasting peace, leading to continued violence, instability, and the rise of armed groups.
8. Weak Institutions: Lack of strong, independent institutions that can govern effectively and manage national issues impartially.
9. Economic Mismanagement: Inability to address economic challenges like unemployment, inflation, and poverty, leading to widespread dissatisfaction.
