Reasons why Oromo-led politics in Ethiopia is failing

Post by Odie » 22 Mar 2025, 09:30

Down hill road

Reasons why Oromo-led politics in Ethiopia is failing

1. Failure to Democratize: Inability to implement meaningful democratic reforms, leading to political repression and dissatisfaction.

2. Failure to Unify the Country: Struggles to foster national unity among Ethiopia’s diverse ethnic groups, exacerbating divisions.

3. Ethnic-Based Hate, Especially Toward Northerners: Rising tensions and hostility, particularly toward the Tigray and Amhara populations, undermining social cohesion.

4. Oromo Expansionism: Focus on promoting Oromo culture and territorial claims rather than pursuing a broader, inclusive national agenda.

5. Narrow Ethno-Nationalism: Prioritizing ethnic interests over national unity, contributing to fragmentation and conflict.

6. Corruption: Endemic corruption within the government hampers development and undermines public trust.

7. Inability to Ensure Peace and Security: Failure to establish lasting peace, leading to continued violence, instability, and the rise of armed groups.

8. Weak Institutions: Lack of strong, independent institutions that can govern effectively and manage national issues impartially.

9. Economic Mismanagement: Inability to address economic challenges like unemployment, inflation, and poverty, leading to widespread dissatisfaction.

"Great man make history" but Abiy Ahmed is not, although the fake world coffered Nobel Peace Prize up on him. He is a dishonest man. He trashed his own history and the great country of Ethiopia. You can see how one man or a few influential thugs cause disaster.

His worst failure come when he betrayed Fano and wen down Pretoria to sign his own death letter. Before that, he sold down Tigary people into the slavery of TPLF after TPLF had been utterly defeated - he denied Tigray their freedom given to them by the Martyrs of Amhara special force and Fano

If Abiy Ahmed were sincere and has good heart for Ethiopia, he would have done or facilitate

1) Change of TPLF and OLF only Dedebit Constitution
2) Replacement or Change of Apartheid Tribal Region
3) Return of Businesses and properties looted by Woyane from those non-Tigre tribes
4) Call for Nation Wide Reconciliation

*** The above 1st order of business are not nuclear physics , but impossible for the one with 15th Century Aba-Geda mentality

In stead, he took TPLF's exploitative system to its highest level. Now, he is harvesting his own death and his animal Orommuma supporters are waiting death at their own door step.

He and his acolytes chose a tried and failed path and failing!

Unfortunate thing
Think! It is not hard.

If one lectures in earnest about a policy that would fail in due time and if his unenlightened students tried to implement the policy that was bound to fail, who should take more responsibility? The lecturer of the policy that was bound to fail or his unenlightened students that tried to implement the failing policy.

Lecturing without vision about a policy that was bound to fail and not taking responsibility while blaming others for it is not politics. It is simply idiotic.

About ten years ago, I started a thread in reaction to an opinion that Ethiopia’s ethnic federalism is the best working model.

There was a fierce argument against my reaction that it needed to be reformed and can be, for all practical purposes, reformed for the better.

What would you call it if one who was a fierce opponent against my idea to reform it turns around to become its champion some ten years later? Politics?

I recently found the thread in the open forum while trying to add some more reflection to it.

Keep thinking about Ethiopia’s ethnic federalism and you may realize that it was the most fallacious experiment in human history because of one simple reason: the “ethnic” identities of its authors and proponents.

Was there a single person among its leading authors who could fit in one “ethnic” region?
