37 years ago on this day, the mighty Eritrean People's Liberation Army (EPLA) scored one of the biggest victories against the Ethiopian colonial army in Eritrea. Nadew Iz was considered to be the strongest of Mengistu's army. But it took the EPLA only 3 days to annihilate it. Nadew was nadewed in Afabet and Ad Shrum where its mechanized division of 120 tanks and armored cars was torched or captured. After that, Eritrean liberation was just a matter of time.

The confidence of the Eritrean commanders was displayed when we remember General Wichu's famous words to his fighters when he told them they were being invited to participate in the funeral of Nadew (ኣብ ሓመድ ድቤ ናደው ትዕደሙ ኣልኹም)

It is only because Shaebiya does not gloat and flood the airwaves with its spectacular victories that kids like Wedi Beshasha have the audacity to challenge our sovereignty. In 1982 Mengistu, one of the loudest idiots Ethiopia has produced, vowed to wipe out Shaebaya with his huge military, which had four Izs, the Mebreq, Nadew, Wuqaw and MenTr, formidable sounding names. The irony is that each one of them faced the same fate its name suggested. The Mebreq was annihilated in 1982, and disappeared from the scene like a flash light. Its commander was executed by Mengistu for failure. The Wuqaw was hit very hard in 1984 and lost its 120 tanks to EPLA. The famous book "Never Kneel Down" by two British Labour Party mebers, who were visiting the field when Wuqaw was being destroyed, gives the historical account of its demise and MenTr was menTred feat

Many feel-good pp cadres are those reminiscent of Derg, not before when Ethiopia was peaceful, no foreign idealism called communism, still Derg and LFs ideology. So the Dergist of course have allied with LFs through PPOlf. These are the ones who are hypnotizing Ethiopians as if true Ethiopian identity is back, no it has not. Once again like Dergist, they are beating the drum of war with Eritrea to fulfill where Derg failed.
