He came and visited Assab and said the right things, but the problem with Ethiopia is that it's not a free country.

I believe after the Pretoria agreement, he was given the mission of helping in destroying Eritrea by the US. Other than that, Eritrea and all the countries of the region would be happy to accommodate Ethiopia because it's good business. But when Abyi then started talking about Ethiopia's "historical right" to the Red Sea and Ethiopia's desire to have a navy stationed there, the "by peaceful means" talk sounds hollow and false.

Now that he's being besieged by the Fano and others might start taking stronger action in future too, he uses the ruse of Assab and access to the sea as a deflection.

Unless we have animosity towards Eritrea being an independent country,what are the legitimate reasons why Ethiopia is peacefully using the port of asseb?
I believe the benefits go both ways because Eritreans despite being from an independent country they have more Ethiopian affinity than Somalia ,Djibouti or Somaliland.
What are the ulterior motives behind not benefiting both people who have more in common?
I am not an Eritrean but the very idea we can't reconcile and accept Eritrea as an independent country is irrational.

A question easy asked than answered. Melee Zenawi was the guy closest to them who single handedly legalized their independence and even allowed shabiya to own properties in Ethiopia where Eritreans/shabiya had favor than ordinary Ethiopians. They went to war for argument of who is the boss, simply said. OPP simply used their service to eject ወያኔ. ሻቢያ does not know business. If it did it could have used the west to its favor. Shabiy thinks military only. They do what classical Communist dictators do at best-like north korea, not china. Assab is dead until shabiy is dead or changes radically. Don’t you see the sentiment they have for Ethiopia on this forum? Djiboutians and Somalis are a lot more respectful!

Forget Menelik and the treaty of Wuchale, the current prime minister of Ethiopia has signed a treaty in Saudi Arabia in 2018 in the presence of the UN, in which Article 4 stipulates the implementation of Algiers Agreement, that has border demarcation between Eritrea & Ethiopia. Every inch of Assab, is in Eritrea.

As everyone knows, both Shabia and Woyane ( included OLF) were favorite of the West. They both crowned by their blessings. Despite the fact that Woyane got their favor, the West only ignored Shabia so that it would return to their embrace. They do not want Shabia gone for doing that is against the purpose Shabia is created. If they wanted, Shabia is weaker than Al Shaba - they could have taken it.

If the rumor that OLF-PP got the blessing and the favor of the West, this is not good news for Shabia. The reason is the West goes in favor means the UN ( aka NGO of colonizers) would be instructed to shut up and later confirm it is in fact stolen from Ethiopia illegally and its return as legitimate.

In any case, not a good thing for Shabia. Let Shabia trolls such as Failed-up, AbysinSh!tlady, etc start learning Oromiffa the future language of their republic - the land of Dawud Ibssa, Lencho's et al. They hated Ethiopia for long, stole her and now, they got this. They will celebrate this at Irrecha Sea

Eritrea is an illegally born fatherless child!
The referendum was a lie, if refurundum was needed to begin with. ወያኔ was illegal in Ethiopia that usurped power by gun not directly representing the Ethiopian population. Boutros Ghali from Egypt, the enemy of Ethiopia was in office at UN to facilitate for decapitation of Ethiopia. There was no legal person to sign the Algiers, the mars, uranus agreement from Ethiopian side. It was the bandas Tigre of Ethiopia. Eritrea apparently independent is not really psychologically, economically independent country. It is the making of Enemies of Ethiopia. one thing is sure. Wether peacefully or otherwise the Ethio-Eritrean issue is not closed. It will need a second look sooner or later. It is not the right time. Let Eritreans enjoy their life style of choice now. the reason is Eritrea wants to use Asab to blackmail Ethiopia both economically and politically as it did between 1991-1998. the other reason is it is to the best interest of Egypt to keep Ethiopia landlocked. otherwise, it has nothing to do with the west. the west doesn't see Eritrea as nothing more than a big F!art, that supports terrorist organizations like alshabab to destabilize the region.

I can not sum it up any better, Fiyameta. That is how we roll in eritrea. If ethiopians don't leave us alone and keep nagging us, we will bring their nightmare to our shore, the Egyptians. The Egyptians will happily duck their warship and fighter jets and pay us millions of $ too. I hope a few Ethiopians with better IQs somewhere in the country or abroad will come forward to mend their low IQ leaders before it's too late. We are sick and tired of the ungrateful ethiopians.
