"Disinformation Fuels Ethnic Tension In Ethiopia"

This article caught my eyes and thought about it ever since I saw it, before weeks.
The point the article raises and central to the reporting is what has been dubbed as "lack of media literacy". This is not a simple thing.
I myself came across someone who passionately narrated about Ethiopia bringing in Birr (printed outside of the country) full of 7 cargo planes, to finance the would be "Abiy Palace" in Addis, which the person claimed will cause massive inflation in the country, among others. The person could be called an elite of the country, at least when taken on the face value, because he is medical doctor. Without any exaggeration I couldn't believe what I was hearing was real.
Today I searched the article in the internet and found either the same or somewhat similar to the original.
https://www.barrons.com/news/disinforma ... a-25df8a04
This is not a simple matter for the safety of the nation and its citizens, stupidity is very dangerous.
Media literacy doesn't simply pop-up out of nowhere, people can no more pay attention to or analyse what they hear or read and figure out the core message of the source. We have repeatedly such a scenario engulfing the mass and causing many damages, for no apparent reason.
