Fano forces under Mere Wedajo in North Wollo claimed to have killed a senior Ethiopian Defense Force commanders.
The commander is identified as Let. Colonel Teka Mekebo Mohammed. He was commander of the 48th Division of the Ethiopian Defense Force. Additionally a deputy lieutenant of a regiment within the 48 Division of the Defense Force is also killed. He is identified as Teresa Gezu Bikila.
The information was announced via Fano Asres Mare Damtie, who is the political head of Fano forces in the Gojjam area of the Amhara region.
A picture of the Photo ID of the colonel killed in combat and communication devices is shared on social media.
The deadline Ethiopian Defense Force set as “final” to eliminate Fano forces from the Amhara region of Ethiopia has passed. Reports of intense fighting between Fano forces and the defense force are still underway in Gojjam, Gondar and Shewa areas.
