From Past Abesha’s Dictatorship through Present
Hybrid’s Oppression to Potential Oromo’s Democracy!

Ethiopia has been ruled by dictatorial Abesha’s authoritarians for about 150 years till the change in 2018. In the last 6 years, the regime, which explicitely looks like Oromo, but implicetly Amhara, i.e biologically and/or psychologically Hybrid regime, had power in Finfinne palace. This Hybrid regime is very deceptive for the Oromo, so that even some genuine Oromo nationalists, who were in the OLF, could support it. But, the fact on the ground shows that the prosperitians led by Abiy Ahmed are revering Amarigna/Amaranet instead of respecting Oromiffà/Oromummà. That is why they are determined to maintain the existing domination of Amarigna and to keep Afàn Oromô at secondary level. Actually, Afàn Oromô8 can legitimately be promoted to primary working language of all federal institutions like the palace, parlament, cabinet, court, military and security, replacing Amarigna. This homework of promoting Afàn Oromô is left to the future potential democratic administration of genuine Oromo nationalists, who surely will take over power from the incumbent Hybrid regime.

Otherwise, no question that the fate of Ethiopia is already determined. Ethiopia as hitherto Amapia (Amaranet dominated country) is dying and the henceforth Ethiopia as Oropia (Oromumma led state) is growing, slowly but surely. In the transition phase of this evolution, Ethiopia as rainbow federation can exist. The rainbow federation at the moment is almost similar to the already formed Amapia. This shall be transformed in a slow process first to the form of rainbow federation, which can look like Oropia. At the end of the day, Ethiopia as de facto Oropia, in the form of Afaan Oromo speaking country, will emerge. Nothing can hinder this evolutionary process. Amara elites already started to sense this phenomena, that is why they are vehemently hating the ongoing fast development of Oromumma. Even Oromo elites can be classified in to three depending on their position regarding this evolution. Oromo elites in OPP, who seem to be committed to maintain the hitherto domination of Amharanet/Amharigna, are simply Amhapianists, those in OFC hoping the formation and persistence of rainbow Ethiopia can be called Ethiopianists and the elites in the OLF, who already know the inevitable end result of the evolution, are purely Oropianists.

Nice to observe that Oropianists in OFC and in the OLF are cooperating against the ruling dictatorial Amapianists led by OPP of Abiy Ahmed. It is clear that Abiy Ahmed and his prosperitan Oromo supporters are determined to keep the existing domination of Amaranet/Amarigna at the cost of Oromiffà/Oromummà just as the hitherto ruling Oromos of the empire from Yekuno to Mengistu did. They all did the bidding of Amarian elites, thus called dictatorial Amarianists, eventhough they are biological Oromo. The OLF rebelled against this trend of about 750 years and fights to establish republic Oromia on the grave of Amarian empire. The OFC on the contrary wants to democratize the whole country, adopt a modernized Gadaa as an indigenious democratic system for the government and promote Afaan Oromo to primary working language of the federation. Such democratic Ethiopia will be de facto Oropia, which is bigger than OLF’s republic Oromia. Now, it is good for the OFC and the OLF to cooperate against the dictatorial OPP in order to achieve their common goal of bilisummaa/freedom. After getting rid of the dictatorial Amarianists, they can realize their respective types of sovereignty, i.e democrati Ethiopia or republic Oromia, based on public verdict through referendum.

The fact and presence of gridlock in Oromo liberation movement was once indicated by Gadaa.com by showing us a nice descriptive picture of traffic gridlock as metaphor for the difficulty in our liberation struggle. Some suggestions from different individuals have been given to fix the gridlock, including opinions in discussions during the hitherto conferences. Oromo websites also played their part in either promoting an attempt to fix the gridlock or in producing and propagating the perceived conflict. I, in short, will try again to describe the “conflict”, show the suggested ways out of it, and indicate constructive as well as unproductive measures taken by different Oromo websites.
