I've always thought the opposite!

I rather thought that anyone but PIA could give Assab away.

An Eritrean puppet of Ethiopia could do this but I doubt PIA would ever do this, as he's at least a nationalist.

BTW, I'm being told that since the Ankara declaration has poured cold water on the fake MoU, all Ethiopian media outlets are now parroting Assab!

If we fought tooth and nail for 20 years for Badema, what makes you think Isayas or we, the eritreans, will let our sovereignty violated in this case the beautiful, Assab?
Eritrea has its own share of idiots who contributed nothing but whining for no apparent reason.

Sometimes it is even wise to stay quiet if you are really eritrean. I mean it.
