“History has a mission designated for us, and we have to act in line with this,” the Turkish president said.
The Turkish government has been accused of seeking to revive the Ottoman Empire’s legacy. Erdogan, however, reportedly dismissed the claims during his speech, describing Turkey’s efforts as strengthening historical ties with former Ottoman territories.
“Some people cannot grasp it. They cannot grasp what we are doing in Libya or Somalia. They are not unaware of our mission.”

Re: Erdogan ambition to to restore the Ottoman Empire
Erdogan is just another dictator. The Ottoman Empire is in the dust bin permanently. USA, China and Russia are the only superpowers in this planet. Even the Japanese gave way to their Super power ancestor named China. Now, mighty Japan is reduced to watching the overgrown baby in North Korea. Certainly, Turkey does not belong in this class.
