I am Horus. I hate to mince words. Modern day Turkey is in full movement to restore the past glory of the Ottoman Empire. Its current strategy is to find a location where two or more states are in conflict or in some kind of problem and then penetrate these states as a friend, helper, mediator, trade partner and or security partner... and then establish its sphere of influence. And, these days, there is not a global conflict where Turkey is not involved.
In the Horn of Africa, Somalia is practically becoming a modern day colony of Modern Turkish Empire. Ethiopia is slowly becoming a Turkish dependent country. I have said many times, there is now a developing fierce battle between the visionless & misguided Egypt and Turkey over the use and control of Somalia. Egypt will lose big time because the buffoon Sisi has no strategy or any rational purpose in Somalia.
Egyptian historical strategy of repressing Ethiopia, disrupting Ethiopia, destabilizing Ethiopia is now a useless ineffective strategy. Ethiopia is in a position to counter each and every hostile move by Egypt.
In this regard, Abiy's regime alliance with Turky in order to remove Egypt out of the Horn is a correct geopolitical tactic. Egypt is an immediate present clear danger to Ethiopian existence and development.
Therefore, while Ethiopia needs to be very careful about its proximity with Turkey, the primary focus of Ethiopia must to keep Egypt away, develop Ethiopian water industry, mechanization of agriculture and modernization of our cities.
Access to commercial ports and military bases on the Red sea or Bab El Mendeb are second level national interests to the complete defense and development of the Nile and Ethiopia's water resources - our WATER INDUSTRY.

Why are these powers absent from the Turkish-Egyptian battle over Somalia?
