The Two Hybrids (Abiy Ahmed and Shimelis Abdissa) Hijacked and Sabotaged Oromo’s Victory of 2018!

How pity to observe that Oromo’s victory of 2018 is hijacked, reversed and sabotaged by Ethiopian leader Abiy Ahmed and Oromian governer Shimelis Abdissa. Both are Hybrids who could effectively silence genuine Oromo nationalists in order to keep the ongoing domination of Amaranet/Amarigna at the cost of Oromiffa/Oromumma. Who ever thought that the Qeerro movement be as such futile and we go back to square one? I was one of those, who thought that we are finally liberated. Unfortunately, the Oromo are still second class citizens, who have to learn Amarigna if we want to work in all Federal institutions and to be considered as modern personality. As far as Amarigna dominated the palace and the government, every body including Oromo children want to grow in this direction, that means be Amaranized. The two Hybrid leaders deliberately keep this status quo in order to do a favour to their own respektive Amara mothers. That is why, the die hard supporters of Biltsigina are neither the pure Amara nor the true Oromo, but the fellow Hybrids.

The Oromo liberation movement has achieved under the last three regimes three key victories, respectively one in each: under Derg, we got back our land from the feudals; during Woyane rule, we decided to use Afàn Oromo at regional level; and now we persuaded Biltsigona to support the ongoing liberation of Oromummà from domination of Amharanet in Orthodox church. The best and highest victory, which is yet to be achieved, is the expected promotion of Afaan Oromo to primary working language of all federal institutions by replacing Amharigna. I don’t think that both Dr. Abiy and Ob. Shimelis have the necessary boldness and gut to push so far. In case they do, I will be the first to say welcome from the bloc keeping the hitherto domination of Amharanet to the camp struggling for liberation of Oromummà. Otherwise, they really did good job by dismantling the domination of Amharanet in the Orthodox church. The promotion of Afaan Oromo to primary Federal Language and the accordingly completion of our liberation struggle will be fulfilled by Oromo republicans under leadership of the OLF in near future.

Further more, it is good to observe that the ruling pro-Amharanet prosperitans are devided and they already started to fight each other. These Oromo prosperitans, who were determined to keep the existing domination of Amharanet/Amharigna are now accusing each other. One group led by Abiy Ahmed is accused as regionalist, which is committed to divide the Oromo based on regions in order to weaken the Oromo nationsl struggle for freedom. The other group led by Shimelis Abdissa is criminalized of corruption and extrajudicial killings. The war between the two factions of the ruling pro-Amharanet dictators is going on. Both these hitherto anti- Oromummà groups are trying to win support and sympathy of Oromo people, which they surely never get. To attain this support, one of them may start to promote Afaan Oromo or Oromummà to its legitimate leadership position in Ethiopia. But, the burning question is, who of the two has such gut and try to be the first? It seems, now both are trying and Shimelis’ group sounds more serious.

Otherwise, none of the existing Oromo organization has got optimal solution for the Oromo question. For instance, both OFC and OLF didn’t yet get an optimal solution for the unique situation of the Oromo. Union Ethiopia (multinational federation) of OFC is good for minority at the center (mac) and an independent Oromia of OLF is nice for minority at the periphery (map). Oromo nation is neither mac nor map, but majority over all (moa) of the country. An optimal solution thus can be just taking over the whole state of Ethiopia and name it Oropia. Let other nations have their right to self-determination from the Oromo, be it in OFC’s model or OLF’s style.

For the Oromo, our moa politics should concentrate on realizing Oropia (Oromummà led Ethiopia), where Afaan Oromo will be primary working language of the union and the whole country be named Oromia, instead of Ethiopia. Thus, Oromo’s strategy should be to dismantle the empire state, foster a union state & give an own state for others, if they want. Secession is not and can not be Oromo’s agenda. The Oromo are unique in the globe to be dominated as a majority nation all over the country and having political center of the empire as its own capital. So, all the five moves undertaken by Oromo nationalists till now are not optimal solutions for such unique situation:

3. Gn. Kamal opting for an independent Oromia,

4. Ob. Dawud asking for referendum on ‘independent Oromia vs union Ethiopia’ and

5. Ob. Leencoo choosing union Ethiopia
