Ethiopia doesn't need to build a magnificent power transmission lines and other related infrastructure to generate income from her massive hydro-electric power generation. She can spare herself the money spend on that, except for the extra added value of regional integration resulting from trading with the neighboring countries in the case of building power lines.
Power is in a short supply for the rapidly rising IT revolution, be that in the area of AI or the Blockchain technology, which all consume massive amount of energy and they are ready to march into Ethiopia to find power supply.
Ethiopia is already generating hundreds of millions of dollars from selling power to the bitcoin mining industry, based on a blockchain technology. This sum must be more than what Ethiopia is generating by selling electricity to her neighboring countries in total.
