Misraq,

It is geographic variation. Tigrayan Tigrigna has a lot in common with Amharic. You just don’t know it. Eritrean Tigrigna is far more independent. There is a slight inclination to Arabic. There are Eritrean Tigre not to be confused with the Tigrayans who are very close to Eritrean Tigrigna as well. As you go deeper into Southern Tigray, especially into the Raya Territory, a translator would be needed for Eritrean Tigrigna speaker,

Dark Energy, Some words in the Tigre and Bilen languages are more closely related to Amharic than to Tigrigna. I believe that all the Semitic languages in Eritrea and northern Ethiopia including Guragigna are derived from Ge'ez.

Almaze,

Tigrigna and Amharic are Semitic languages. Hebrew and Arabic are Semitic as well. But, Geographic locations and hundred years of isolations add variation to languages. BTW, the Bilens originate from the Lalibela kingdom in WOLO. Hence very close similarities to Amharic are observed.

Space, time and interaction with adjacent populations create variations in my view.

Eritrean Tigrinya accent is more like Beja influenced

while Tigray Tigrinya sounds more semetic and even in their music, Tigray speak a much more rough Tigrinya while Hamasien have a pitched voice in their Tigrinya

Noble,

You are generalizing. Pitch is an individual not cultural characteristics. Saba is high pitched. Many talented Eritrea musicians are not. I have to admit, Rachel’s voice is soothing like many Eritrean female vocalists. It is just particular to the artist.
