Sudan could side with Egypt if talks on the GERD fail and that the option of war remained open if an agreement ensuring the water rights of all three countries was not reached - Ali Youssif, Sudan's Acting Foreign Minister.

We will eventually succumb to Trump's will and allow Egypt to monitor the filling and the day-to-day operation of the dam. What other choice do we have? Our survival depends on US aid. In fact, most of our 120 million hungry people care more about the dams in Iowa than the Renaissance dam in Ethiopia. I'm just being real.
