Revelations, MF, first learn to spell my name right. As for the guy who lost his life, I fell sorry for his family. He chose a method of struggle that is outdated, which does not vibe with the world we live in. Do not get me wrong. I am not saying he has no reason to fight for. No. I am saying every problem should not be solved with force. It is becoming depressing to lionize violence as if it is the solution to everything.

Oh, the killing method of Abiye Ahmed Ali is up to date and modern. It is so modern it kills in combo: children, women and the elderly.

Are you saying that they have to disarm and line up to be slaughtered by Abiye Ahmed Ali up to date firing squads.

A fool.

Affable, please enlighten us what that "reason to fight for" is/are. We are blindfolded on that up until now. The only reason we were told so far is "entering their forefathers' palace" and the other reason we were told so far was the goal "to rich 5 Kilo, we should control 4 Kilo first", please help me out here, if I missed something. I could potentially switch side and pledge my support, the two reasons seemed to me so far not only so unpersuasive but also indeed exclusive privileges for me to join the struggle.

BTW., do you mind to update us on the stance of your sister visa-a-vis PM Abiy, whom she initially supported but later on managed to find out how murderous he is for her people, currently?

I don't know your sister but you were the one who shared her shifted instance with us in here.

EffEff, may be you do your mother but not us. Not our culture. Who knows where you learned to do that. Your anger about everything is exposing the real you. We like it a lot!

DTT, my sister still does not support Abiy. Recently her concern is security. She claims People cannot go outside Addis without fearing being kidnapped. Even in Addis, there is a great concern that she worries about. On the other hand, the oldest uncle I have — he is eighty-six years old— is the staunch supporter of Abiy.
When they gather together, they avoid to discuss politics even tangentially.

Why not imagine your family in Addis does the same!   And a while back EffEff told us his pente sister would cry worried about Abiy. This EffEff dude also presented himself to be pente only to start talking about doing his mother lately. Affable,

Well, I am not surprised about the news of lack of security in the country, that is almost all over the places. At least all the places where there is lack of wise men suffer from it.

What surprises me is that you present this as a reason for opposing Abiy. Your sister may miss the logic, but you shouldn't have, in my view.

On one hand supporting those who deny peace the people and then turn around and blame the government for lack of peace is simply beyond what I can comprehend.

You are not alone on that, there are many people who make similar accusations against Abiy the "monster". There are also who have intentionally engineered it in order to use it to try to topple the government or use it as a bargaining chip for a state power. There are, according to some allegations on the media, even from within the ruling party itself doing this.

Why should I write this long paragraph for someone like you, who mostly likes short ones?

To be honest with you I will not be surprised if someone happens to oppose Abiy, as there are many around us from that sort. I think to have shared with you my view on this regard before. I am not expecting you to be of the same view with me with regard to any political issues or personalities. My only disappointment with you is your failure to be rational in doing so. I considered you one of the very few rational forumers before, especially during the Tigray war. It was perhaps because back then we were on the same page on that particular issue.

Once the war ended you decided to join the camp of ርስት አስመላሾች while the nation was still reeling from the devastating consequences of the war.

That is not too bad, it is alright to demand one's perceived rights, the only problem arises when you (the camp as a whole) started to accuse Abiy of betrayal. He should have granted them the land, Abiy who came to power just yesterday should have given them the land that was in dispute over decades just because he decided to sit down for a cease fire talk with the adversaries.

I am not qualified to comment on that at the technical level but my layman's feeling is that the competence of the government delegation wouldn't encompass the settlement of disputed territories in the country at the peace talks to stop the war.

The other accusation against the enemy Abiy has been "Amharas were not represented in the peace talks" as if the Ethiopian government is not entitled to handle in the name of Amharas. My little sense of a layman is that the government is an elected government, that should suffice to repel such a kind of childish accusation, in my view.

I have also relatives (close family members) who at least sound to oppose Abiy for what ever reason. My reaction is if they have any credible reason or simply based on the pile of propaganda filled social media and others. It includes for example, Abiy sponsored the assassination of Hachalu Hundessa, my answer is not to insult my intelligence and move on.

Opposing Abiy is not forbidden, in my view, but by being rational while doing so, for the sake of the future of the country and its coming generations.

DTT, what are you talking about ? I said my sister even now doesn’t support Abiy because of the constant lack of security in the country. Are you arguing security concern shouldn’t weigh in one’s decision whether to support or not a leader of a country ? You are out of your mind.
She has kids. As a mother, she cares for security of her children. She has had an experience to be concerned about.

Okay, I am out of my mind, but your sister has got security concerns, which stem from a group she also supports. Is there anything I added in here?

Affable,

there is a saying which goes like something: "when the going gets tough, the tough get going" and the security concern was also there in Oromia region for very long. It has been always calling on the government to bring peace.

Now it is getting tough and the tough has started to move, to face the challenge.

A proof here.

Hopefully, your sister will also draw a lesson one day, the sooner the better for her.

DTT try to see politics out of tribal angle at least once in a while. How do you know my sister support Fano, which you implied. You try to behave as an Ethiopian, but your politics is tribal in every sense. Unlike you, she doesn’t factor in the tribe of the leader in her political beliefs.
