Iran announces first joint military drills with Saudi Arabia in Red Sea

Post by Somaliman » 23 Oct 2024, 17:02

Iran has announced joint military drills with Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea, though the kingdom has yet to confirm.

In a statement on Tuesday, the commander of Iran’s navy, Admiral Shahram Irani, said that they had been asked by Saudi Arabia to take part in the operations.

“Saudi Arabia has asked that we organise joint exercises in the Red Sea,” he was quoted as saying by the Iranian news agency ISNA.

“Coordination is underway and delegations from both countries will hold the necessary consultations on how to conduct the exercise."

Please refrain from bringing your diarrhea that Israel is setting up a naval base in the north of Somalia, as if this were a no man's land.

Joint military drills involving Saudi and Iran ? I believe it when I see it. These two giants are on opposite sides. I thought Saudi was far more closer to Israel than Iran. Nonetheless, it is good .

If it is true, then that is the work of China. The region needs peace. The crown prince may finally bring peace to the region. That would be an enormous achievement.

Israel has the agreement with Somali Land and Ethiopia to build a military base.
I don’t see the wisdom of bringing Israel in the HOA.

China brokered a rapprochement between Iran and Saudi Arabia about a year ago, and both have since been resuming their ties.

Turkey has close relations with Iran, the US, the UE, and Russia.

Despite some claiming that there's a secretive new alliance between Saudi Arabia and Israel, Saudi Arabia does not have any formal diplomatic relations with the Zionist regime. SA has said that it's interested in normalising relations with Israel after the war in Gaza, but that any deal must lead to the creation of a Palestinian state.

Somaliland never agreed anything with the Israelis. Neither do we have any relationship with the Chinese. Our people are pro houthis pro Taiwan.

Jikaar,
You are an Eritrean. You are not fooling anyone here.

Eritreans fought the Houthi’s as mercenaries on behalf of Saudi Arabia just recently.
Now, all of a sudden pretend to be on the Houthis side.
What a comedy.

Bro Somaliman this is a big slap to the face of the yankees. They were orchestrating to wedge havoc between sunnis and shiites but they failed big time.

Thanks to the chinese, they brought them together.

What are the chances that UAE will maintain its aloof neutrality on this matter? BRICS has zero economic efficacy. It wont accomplish anything beyond what the countries could do on bilateral bases.

My bet is that BRICS will increasingly shift to a military alliance. In this scenario, UAE will find itself between a rock and a hard place.

The BRICS can play an economic force that challenges the Western-dominated global order, but becoming a major political force as a block, leave alone a "military alliance", seems highly unlikely due to the nature of some of its members, such as India.
