Not 300 years. For example, there were no Oromo in Kaffa and Ennarya, present Jimma, west of Gibe River before 1820s. In 1880, the entire population was 50, 000 with a slim majority being Gallas.
In the 1645 A.D. map of Jesuit priest Amanuel De Almeida, Gallas were found only southeast of Lake Zway.
To your question, not me but Pacifist Pagan Horus. The Gafats of Ambo were her closest clans. I would do anything to save my land, tradition, history and language. I still will. Now, we are not former separate Gurage clans. We are now the Gurage nation. What happens to clan, it has happened to all of us. We will Resuscitate Gafats and their language from extinction as did the Israelites did. It's a right protected by the UN Charter.

Oromo is extremely paternalistic culture
Oromo father Sapira begat Dacha and Boran
Dacha begat Macha, Jida and Da'ale
Boran begat Mecca and Tulama
Da'ale begat Hoko, Chele, Obo and Suba
Jida begat Hakako, Gudru and Liban
Mecca and Tulama migrated north and formed a confederation called Afre at Oda Nabr, near Dukem, 30km east of Addis in Fatager
The Oromo of Gumma on the native lands of Ennarya and Kafecho have two clans: Adami and Dangoye.
