Gobena Dache's military success as a second man to Menelick may have served as influential as the present OPDO is helped by TPLF in encroaching onto Gurage lands and eroding the cohesion of Gurages. It weakened Gurage unable to maintain their language and lands.
I will appreciate details on this Menelick-Oromo-Gurage power hierarchy and its impact on the disruption of Gurage assets of lands and language.

Dama,

I know that you are not concerned about Gurage being swallowed by Oromo, your project as Silte is to bring Gurage to Wahabi.?That is your concern.? My concern is True Oromo does not wear Egyptian flag, change its writing to colonizer Vatican Latin ad influencing Gurages to same colonized-mind when you fought against colonization. Am advising Oromos get out of the shackles of colonized Eritrea and colonized Kenya-Oromos

Sodo is one of the most socially cohesive Gurage clans. A greater force must have been applied by Oromo to break this force of Sodo's social cohesion to force the people to be bilingual. To lose their lands. It all comes to loss of control.of their economic resources by the powers beyond their control for an unorganized and unarmed society.

It takes a huge amount of force of power, cruel crimes and hate expressed at individuals and their group to lose their lands and language.
People don't just give up their lands and language. Gruesome violence often is carried out to intimidate and frighten the target population to give up its lands and language.

In trying to understand the mechanics of so much Gurage lands and languages loss to Oromo, a predator group that has never won a war on its own, I find the following are how Ormo stole Gurage lands and extincted Gurage dialects:
1. It attached itself as helping hand to Amara and TIgray militaries. Cases in point Gobena Dache helping Menelick and OPDO, created and trained by TPLF
2. Disloyalty of Oromo generals to the governments of Ethiopia they served in favor of their Oromo nationalism. Examples: General Taddese Biru against Haile Sellasie and Clown Colonel Abiy Ahmed, Generals Lema Megersa and Abadula against EPRDF.
3. On the contrary, Gurage high military officers like General W.sellase Beraka, Yilma Shibeshi, Ras Damte, etc.were loyal to Ethiopian government to the fault.
4. Gurage has failed to establish institutions to help it adapt to changing political paradigms.

A Gurage or group of Gurages should have assassinated Meles, or at least must have tried. No one hated Gurage as much as Meles Zeradwa did.
Under his leadership and by his instigation, Gurage lost Lak Zway, Seden and Chebo Gurages to Oromo and helped Silte break away from Gurage. Also, encouraged the Kebena and Mareqo minorities armed revolt against Gurage.
