Eden your argument is half true. We know there is no animosity between Ethiopians and Eritreans. You are right on that. But your argument that Isayes was collaborating with Al Sisi because he is against Abiy, not Ethiopia, does make no sense.
In fact, it is a downright senseless argument.
To know whether Isayes is against the interest of Ethiopia or not, you start by questioning the interest of Egypt. Does Egypt want a weak, divided, and if possible, disintegrated Ethiopia along ethnic lines ? Yes. So a leader of a country who shuttles between Asmara and Cairo as a request of Cairo , it seems, every other week is a friend of Ethiopia ?
You do not need to be a rocket scientist to figure that out.
Isayes lives in fantasy world. The Eritrea liberation movement has a long history. As the ancient liberation movement in the region, it had influenced movements which mushroomed in Ethiopia against the Ethiopian regime. Isayes was the so called king maker. He seemed to have missed that “glory.”
But the Ethiopia of today is way different than the Ethiopia of thirty five or so years ago. The Ethiopia of today does not have a room to accommodate Isayes’ exclusive interest.
He can make friendly good relationship with Ethiopia. But he cannot have the chance to interfere with the internal politics of Ethiopia. The more he is willing to be subservient to the Cairo’s wish, the number one enemy Ethiopia finds him to be. Ethiopians are divided regarding the politics of the current administration in Ethiopia. Don’t be fooled by that. When foreign countries are trying to sabotage, degrade, and attack the interest of Ethiopia politics takes a totally different tone. The sooner that sinks in, the better for the regional peace.

When you say Egypt, do you mean the people of Egypt or the ruler of Egypt?

The people of Egypt do not think politics everyday, like the people of every other countries. It is the politicians. But when politicians turn to the politics of nationalism, they have the power to rally the majority of their people.
I do not think the Egypt posturing is that serious. It is a calculated diplomatic effort to refrain Ethiopia from following the same trend in the future. The way Egypt does her politics in that regard however is very amateurish, if not childish.

Guess what - Farmajo of Somalia offered Ethiopia a lasting peace in good faith and assured it that Somalia was prepared to turn the page and make a fresh start with Ethiopia. Following this, Abiy, PIA, and Farmajo forged a warm friendship between themselves and held tripartite summits, even though the practicalities and implications of such a tripartite had never been explicitly disclosed or stated. Needless to add that PIA took it from there and had started aspiring to regional integration ambitions.

During the Tigray conflict, PIA intervened in Ethiopia, committed the lives of thousands of Eritrean boys and girls in order to prevent Ethiopia from disintegrating and also spared the ar'se of Abiy from getting evicted from Menelik Palace, when Agames were threatening to march to Addis and smoke Abiy's ar'se out of the palace.

And the next thing we knew was the very same Abiy not only trying to outplay PIA in the Tigray conflict, but also embarking upon threatening the very same Eritrea and Somalia he was romanticising with a year or two earlier and making every effort in annexing a coastal land of Somalia by concocting an unlawful MoU with a region of Somalia, flagrantly violating Somalia's territorial integrity.

Sadly, the reality is that the only things that we share between us in the HoA, which we do not share with other countries outside the HoA, are disputed borders, animosity, and conflicts.

Have you been on coma over the past 4 years? You and I may not like it, but Isaias is still king maker in Ethiopia. Abiy is Ethiopia's PM today (some call him King, actually he probably thinks he is King) as a direct result of Isaias's interference in Ethiopian politics. Abiy has made Isaias's interference in Ethiopia's internal affairs halal when he created ጥምር ጦር with Isaias against Tigray. It would not be haram if Fano gets Isaias's support in removing Abiy.
