Eritrean ports face challenges that have led to their underutilization or abandonment, including:
1. Political Isolation: Eritrea’s strained relations with neighboring countries have limited trade opportunities and access to regional markets.
2. “High IQ” Economic Mismanagement: A lack of investment and poor infrastructure maintenance has resulted in inefficient port operations.
3. The high IQ shabeans love Conflict and Instability: Ongoing tensions with Ethiopia and other regional conflicts have deterred investment and shipping activities.
4. Draconian Government Policies: The repressive political environment and heavy state control over the economy discourage private enterprise and foreign investment.
Shabeans should blame themselves for their failure
