Why is the UAE behind Abbiy on Somali Land
Well, Ethiopia does not plan to import and export through SomaliLand. That is done through Djibouti. Ethiopia just wants to build military base financed by UAE. Why you ask. Hired guns. Practically, UAE needs to secure its merchant ships from the Yemeni rebels. UAE needs hired mercenaries. Ethiopia needs the image of owning a port. Ethiopia will not be able to import or export through Somali Land. Horus prides himself in the so called Ethiopian navy that will be sacrificed on UAE behalf. Egypt is very much against it, since that violates the sovereignty of Somalia. Got it !

Re: Why is the Emirates behind Abbiy on Somali Land
Somali Land needs bodies to fall to protect its shipping lines. Ethiopian has plenty cheap bodies to fall, that explains the enigma of Somali Land.
Re: Why is the UAE behind Abbiy on Somali Land
Actually the United Arab Emirates wants Ethiopia to use berbera port in Somaliland which is managed by the dp world ,
The reason is for economic reason and because they are feuding with Djibouti. Because Djibouti kicked out dp world out of Djibouti and we took the entire port back that’s why they want to pain us

Zack,
I understand that. But, that is a little chunk. Ethiopia is allowed to use the port for military purposes. Not for exporting or importing goods. Build Ethiopian Navy for what. The Yemenis frighten UAE to death. If you add one plus two. There we go. Egypt will not tolerate Ethiopian Navy on the RedSea . Boys and girls, we have a boxing game.

Re: Why is the UAE behind Abbiy on Somali Land
It's very simple they invested in Djibouti after tigray blocked Eritrea to deal with Ethiopia. Then the Djiboutians kicked out the UAE guys after they received a world class asset. They UAE guys contacted us and we allowed them to develop our ports.
Initially we gave 20% share to Ethiopia. Abiy said I can't afford. Then we have realised this guy is stupid. Now we want a geopolitical war. Something we have have been seeking for years.

Re: Why is the UAE behind Abbiy on Somali Land
A naval base for Ethiopia is all a smokescreen for the UAE.
It's rather the UAE that's in search for a naval base either on the Red Sea or on the southern shores of the Gulf of Aden.
In 2017, the UAE reached an under-the-table agreement with the mindless breakaway region of Somalia, also known as Somaliland, for it to set up its own base in Berbera, combining both a military and a naval base. But Mogadishu had categorically rejected the plot, and the UAE got seriously upset. As if that wasn't sufficient to irritate the UAE, Farmajo, who was president at the time, also closed a so-called military training camp in the suburbs of Mogadishu, funded by the UAE, and had expelled all Emirati personal involved in the camp, A few months later, Somalia had smashed and confiscated $9 million cash from the UAE to Puntland at Mogadishu Airport, to corrupt local elections in Puntland.
The UAE couldn't digest that it was not a powerful country that was doing all these to it but Somalia, and since that day the UAE has been embarked upon vengeance on Somalia in any way possible.
Therefore, the UAE is the very one that's behind all this Naval base daydream parroted by clown monkey Abiy. It has made a deal with the usual clown, kind of: Get a base in the aforementioned sea zones and I'll build and run it and we'll own it both.

Dark Arab Abid Concubine,
The coward Arab Muslim Egypt will not die for its Arab slaves. Listen below to Issaias, declaring to your stinko azzzes that the old pearl of the Red Sea under the emperor, that is the ports of Massawa and Assab are long dead.
Listen to Issaias and his nostalgia to the golden era under the Emperor Haile Selassie:

Somaliland agrees to UAE military base in Berbera.
MPs in the mindless enclave have agreed to allow the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to set up a military base in the port of Berbera.

United Arab Emirates - Level 2: Exercise Increased Caution
Militant groups operating in Yemen have stated an intent to attack neighboring countries, including the UAE, using missiles and drones. Missile and drone attacks in early 2022 targeted populated areas and civilian infrastructure.

Hi,
If you visit arab websites all condemn the leadership of the emirates. Almost all claim the father of those neo-zionists was a God fearing man. He even helped us Eritreans in our dire time.
I recall, the somali president siyad barre told him that they lack any functional plane and he needs his support, the then emirates president sultan zayid alnahyan, offered $70 million.
His sons are the opposite of him. They are arming warlords ranging from Libya, chad, mali, central african republic, somalia, yemen, Mauritania. Now they became abyi's godfather. Of course Egypt is fond of their money but definitely won't appreciate their stand with abi's ethiopia.
They are wreaking havoc everywhere. Their good father is cursing them from his grave.

True, his father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the Emirates, was a God fearing respectful person.
When you see this fuc'ker evil, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, he looks very arrogant and domineering, yet when he speaks he sounds so humble.
I wonder where you've got this from, as it's the first time I come across this, and I heavily doubt its veracity, because Somalia not having any functional plane while Barre was still in Somalia cannot be true, as Somali Airlines had a number of operational planes and was even operating Mogadishu - Rome - Frankfurt flights twice a week until a week prior to the collapse of Barre's government. And as soon as the chaos broke out any plane parked at Mogadishu Airport was flown to Frankfurt.I recall, the somali president siyad barre told him that they lack any functional plane and he needs his support, the then emirates president sultan zayid alnahyan, offered $70 million.
Unlike the fuc'kers who have succeeded him, Siad Barre was not known of asking foreigners for money.

UAE is very vulnerable. These guys are playing games in the World of Houthis, Iran, Israel, etc….UAE is not even loved in the Arab World. The man needs to learn a thing or two from Japan before he harms his own little spoiled country.

I am not entirely certain, but it is possible that the situation is influenced by the Houthis, with perhaps some Israeli involvement. Given that Israel is Ethiopia’s most significant ally, it stands to reason that they may be exerting pressure on the Emirates to permit Ethiopia’s actions. However, you raise an important point: how can the Emirates maintain a balance in their relationship with Egypt, which would never tolerate Ethiopia gaining access to the Red Sea or establishing a military presence there?
It’s difficult to discern the exact strategy the Emirates are pursuing. Egypt, as a prominent member of the Arab League, would undoubtedly view such a move as a direct challenge to its interests. Meanwhile, the Emirates have significant investments in Ethiopia, further complicating the matter. The delicate task of balancing these two relationships one with a powerful Arab ally Egypt and the other with a strategic African partner they have allot of inluance over Ethiopia .The question remains: how do they intend to navigate these competing interests?

Zack,
The man in UAE is a tyrant. He could care less about Egypt or Saudi Arabia. The Saudis and the Egyptians are the main advocate of the Arab World. Of course, Iran does not see it that way. The UAE man is just a spoiled brat. He forgets that he has a tiny country regardless of how wealthy it happens to be. He is competing with the powerful ones. He wants Ethiopian rag tag marines to die for his cause. The Houthis supported with Iran are keeping him in check.

He did offer $70 million to somalia and that was in 70s of last century. Perhaps in today's market price is $700 million.
Somalia did own modern soviet made mig warplanes in the 70s but not real commercial planes.
