You are a (numerical) minority doesn't necessarily relegate you to a powerless communities in your own country. You can decide, even on your own, or better yet in collaboration with other so called minorities in the country, who should be a leader in the country. You will be relegated to a powerless citizen, only if you fail to play your own card properly.
Minorities can perfectly determine who should be the power holder in the country. Draw a lesson from the following scheme of American politics.
The few minorities determine who should be a president of the US, they play their card in accordance with their own interests!

You are either suffering from intellectual laziness or deliberately trying to deceive the unsuspecting. Comparing the federal system in the United States with Ethiopia's archaic ethnic-based so-called federalism is not like comparing apples and oranges; it’s like comparing apples and pumpkins. Where there is no fair and supportive power-sharing structure, so-called minorities can only survive as long as they kowtow to the wishes of the dominant party.
Let me give you an example: all U.S. states, regardless of size, have two senators in the Senate with equal decision-making power. This system ensures that smaller states do not feel like mere appendages but are equal partners in the federal system. In Ethiopia, regions like Somalia were relegated to a supporting role till OPDO became the new boss in town. Even then ,although they are nominally equal, they only succeed by aligning with the new overlords (the OPDOs). For example, Sidamas, favored by the OPDO, were granted the right to administer their region, but the same was not true for the Gurages, due to the OPDO’s hostility towards their aspirations.
If you're trying to sell us a bridge, we’re not buying it, Mr. Defender of the Lie.

Dtt, is there an Oromo nation in reality or are you as divided into small enclaves. The fact that a Borona Oromo and a Shoe Oromo speak the same language is not by itself enough to ensure they feel they belong to one nation. And so, you better be very careful the ethnic cancer does not consume your Oromia. Who, for example, is eliminating PP officials in Wellega?

DDT,
Which ethnic or linguistic group is a majority? I mean which ethnic group accounts for at least 51% of the national population? Is there any ethnic minority in Ethiopia, in real operational terms? You have to answer this before drawing an inference.

In the hodgepodge system of ethnic federalism, minorities within any larger group are marginalized. They are threatened if they raise issues of fair representation within local administrations. If they persist in asserting their political rights, they are killed. This is what is happening in Oromia, where 15 million Amharas are denied representation. This marginalization is designed to allow those in power to control more than their fair share of resources and authority.
As a result, "larger" has become synonymous with "majority." Neither the Oromo nor the Amhara are true majorities if a proper headcount were conducted. However, ethnic fanatics in Weyanne and OLF leadership have made this reality in today’s Ethiopia. True change in Ethiopia will only come when the power dynamics shift—an inevitable outcome in the near future. That is when a true representative government would have a chance to emerge.

Idiotic Guragie Adgi Abere,
Majority is a relative term. Majority party does not have to have over fifty one percent of all members. In Ethiopia, the Oromos are the majority. The amharas are close second. In that kind of atmosphere, coalition is the way to go. You, pathetic Guragies are practically insignificant.
